Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 20, 2009 10:23 am Ok guys, here are other options for the facades. I'll also write the prices to compare:
Option1: $4.6K more Option2: $8.6K more Option3: $9.8K more I've added a small balcony to option 1, and ive moved the pillar in front of the garage in option 2 to the edge of the garage (dont know if it will be possible) But whats worth spending on? #Option1 http://i592.photobucket.com/albums/tt6/bluemetal1977/fow_regal1.jpg #Option2 http://i592.photobucket.com/albums/tt6/bluemetal1977/fow_soho1.jpg #Option3 http://i592.photobucket.com/albums/tt6/bluemetal1977/fow_urban.jpg --- I don't have a signature - just this sentence saying that I don't have one - that'll do! Re: Which Facade for your 2-Storey!? Part II 2Feb 20, 2009 10:29 am I don't think moving that beam will be possible in option 2.
There wouldn't be enough support for the balcony. Possibly the only way would be if the support was built into the balcony itself. Then you're probably looking at steele beams and $$$$$$$. I can't see 5k worth of extra value in option 3 over option 1, even though I like option 3 the best. And like I said, option 2 will probably get expensive to move the support. So option 1 for me. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Which Facade for your 2-Storey!? Part II 5Feb 20, 2009 10:37 am Ok, still prefer option 3 (previously option 2) and then the first option - aesthetically I just prefer the flat roof over the garage for some reason (even though I think from inside the house it would like nicer to look down on a sloping roof with tiles, lol).

Part II 6Feb 20, 2009 7:33 pm I like 1 and 3, but there is no way I'd pay the amount for 3 just for a facade. So I reckon the first one! There is going to be alot of extras you will want to add inside the house and it's easy to go overboard. A nice facade will add a bit extra to the price of your house but not as much as it costs you. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Building the Aspiration 35MKII with Wisdom ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ http://pondsaspiration.blogspot.com/ Re: Which Facade for your 2-Storey!? Part II 7Feb 20, 2009 7:40 pm I do like number 3 the best, it is lovely, but like others, not sure if it's $5200 more lovely than #1... if you've got better things to spend $5200 on then I'd go for number 1.
