Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 13, 2009 8:52 am We have chosen our builder! We've gone with Ultimate Homes. Once we get the plan with all our changes drawn up properly (I made a few last minute ones before going up on site) I'll post it up here for you all to see!
I was thinking about making up a building blog - any good recommendations for a blog website that's easy to use? Re: We Have Picked Our Builder - Yay! 2Feb 13, 2009 9:01 am Good luck Mrs Smith. If you go to the sticky thread at the beginning of the Building A New Home section there is a link to some blog sites that the majority of forumites here use. Some things are worth waiting for. Re: We Have Picked Our Builder - Yay! 3Feb 13, 2009 9:06 am most of us use blogger (gmail)
congrats on choosing your builder now the fun begins cant wait to follow your journey John, Tarin and the Kids Built and moving in to the Regent Grande with Masterton homes http://thebrownsaremovingtothecountry.blogspot.com Re: We Have Picked Our Builder - Yay! 5Feb 13, 2009 9:11 am Congrats on making one of the hardest choices! (well then theres all the other stuff as well to choose lol )
I would say I've got pretty average computer skills, but have started a blog with blogger - still working out how to get the pictures look ok etc, but it's not hard to use. Still not in. Don't ask!? Re: We Have Picked Our Builder - Yay! 6Feb 13, 2009 11:24 pm Yay! Congrats.....cant wait to see what house you have chosen. Re: We Have Picked Our Builder - Yay! 8Feb 14, 2009 4:10 pm M!ssy Congrats Mrs Smith! Very exciting news! That was a big R&R for you, an engagement and decided on a house! Looking forward to following your building journey Yep I have a feeling now that future R&Rs will not involve rest and relaxation hehehe Re: We Have Picked Our Builder - Yay! 9Feb 14, 2009 4:49 pm Terrific news. I look forward to hearing about each stage in your progress from now on. Re: We Have Picked Our Builder - Yay! 10Mar 24, 2009 8:58 pm what design did you go with if you don't mind me asking... i am tossing up between ultimate, scott part, ross north[a little pricey for basic specs] and dale alcock... was looking into red ink, but unfortunately it's got some very, very basic options along with being pricey on the addons... along with not offering to move at all on all the changes. Re: We Have Picked Our Builder - Yay! 11Mar 24, 2009 9:13 pm btw Mrs smith. You don't need to have a gmail account to use blogger. i sign in with a yahoo account. not sure what other types you can use. Once you post on the blog you can link from there for photos for here rather than having to put them in photobucket or a photo sharing place. makes life a little simpler. Same for other blogging sites too. Re: We Have Picked Our Builder - Yay! 12Mar 26, 2009 9:18 am Oooops I missed this Our design is based on the tuscan 292, but we've made a lot of changes to it. Initially we like the Seascapes house, but for the price, the alfresco wasn't a full alfresco and there was no games room, so we didn't think it was worth it. So our sales rep sat us down and we made the changes to the Tuscan we wanted, and it was cheaper than the Seascapes house with everything we want, which was excellent. We made these changes (if you look between the 2 houses you can sort of picture it) - Put the seascapes main bedroom and ensuite (with an added spa) into the main bedroom area. - Added a portico to the front of the house to set off the columns nicely - Made the ceilings throughout the living areas 31c - Enclosed the games room, pulled the garage forward a meter, pulled the meals forward a meter too so there's no staggered wall there from closing it in. - Changed the kitchen to the Colonnades kitchen and added a 900mm oven - Added 200mm to the fridge space so it's 1020mm wide and took that from the study (which is now the activity). - Moved Bed 2 down further and enclosed the activity into a closed in study, and put WIR under the eaves for both rooms close together - Put the bath under the eaves and extend the bench in the bathroom - Put cupboards and benches in the laundry and got rid of the white metal thing (I can't stand those tough and cabinet in one things....) - Switch the toilet and WIL around and put the seascapes powder room in. - Extend the meals area 1.5m out to the right and extend the alfresco to match too. - Extend to garage out 1m to the right, and put a t-bar opening at the back of it so we can add a roller door later (it'll be cheaper to do it ourselves). It think that was all hehehehe when I get the official drawings on Friday next week, I can scan it and put it up here if you like. We're very happy going with Ultimate and were also looking at the same builder you did, but felt that with Ultimate, we were getting best value for money, and also the salesperson we were dealing with is excellent and very helpful and always goes out of her way with us. We were tied between RedInk and Ultimate, but the Salesperson didn't get back to us often, we wouldn't hear from him for weeks and in the end decided that if the sales stage was going to be like that, we weren't comfortable risking that the construction stage could be like that too. But their homes are really nice. Re: We Have Picked Our Builder - Yay! 13Mar 27, 2009 2:29 am brilliant reply! thank you! and yes, i'd love to see the scan too... whenever you have time. love the changes too... can envision it completely, as i'm looking at a lot of the same adjustments. Hi All, I just wanted to close this topic out with an update. So we ended up agreeing to a number with the insurance company, and after an extensive amount of hand… 8 23401 "Losers" "humanity" "off time" "your" "top notch" "love symbol" Sounds like ponzo is done using other people's toilets 36 23889 |
