Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 12, 2009 3:30 pm Hi everyone,
We are planning on building with Carlisle Homes Pagoda 35 Mk2. We are in the planning stage at the moment. We would like to render our front facade using two colours. But we dont know where to put the colours. Here is how the facade kinda looks like: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Although, instead of having that big wall project on the left hand side of the house, we are just going to have 3 windows which are high but not wide, if that makes sense. We are racking our brains trying to think of the best way to use the two colours, but we just dont know. Can people please give us some suggestions? Thanks. P.S. We have not made a decision on the colours, so can you also suggest some colours? I was thinking maybe one colour light/cream, and the other a light brown? [sneakersss] Re: Please help with render colours to front facade 4Feb 12, 2009 10:00 pm I prefer the facade to be either fully rendered or not rendered at all. And I must admit that I do like the look of render to brickwork. Why two colours? Simply because I think two colours will give the house a sense of demension. I think full render in two colours is a bit naff. No offence to anyone. But in this particular case I think it would be. The house is nice and symetrical and there's only really two levels of depth to the facade - the left and right and the front door. More than one colour of render would make it lopsided.. The current facade you have now is really three colours ( garage door, render and stone cladding) which is a good balance of light, dark and midtones/texture. I think you're having trouble deciding where to put which of the two colours because what you have changed the facade to won't work with it. [sneakersss] Re: Please help with render colours to front facade 6Feb 12, 2009 10:22 pm That's pretty much how I feel. I've always liked two tone to front facade, I feel that it gives the facade some depth and interest. But with this particular facade, it just seems that where ever you put the two colours, it just doesnt seem right.
Hrmz What to do?! Yea the facade of the display house is quite nice! We would love to have the stone cladding, but we cant afford it. Tried to play with the facade models but the exact colour is not matching up. 2 3259 I'd get the gutters to match your roof and pipes to match the paint - otherwise they become a feature. Nice pick with the paint colours! 1 34269 |
