Re: My C@ventry 33 - First row of bricks laid today 172May 04, 2009 9:56 pm Cheers Ryan Oliver, Thorney and Stormy I too am excited and hope that a few more courses are added by the time my day shift finishes tomorrow so I can see how it shall look against my other colour choices How does the bricking usually work? I would have thought they would start one side then make their way round the house. Maybe the first course is laid to enable them to do that??? How long has it taken for other single storey houses for the bricking to be completed??? Re: My C@ventry 33 - First row of bricks laid today 173May 04, 2009 10:12 pm Tillie, our brick work took about two weeks but there were times when the brickies were not there or only worked part of the day. Our bricks were done in sections and went as high as the brickies could stand. This was done all around the house, then they worked their way around house doing the the high areas. Re: My C@ventry 33 - First row of bricks laid today 174May 04, 2009 10:20 pm Thanks MM I was hoping that it was not one course at a time per day In saying that, 2 weeks for the bricks is not that long at all Did they also do some electrical work whilst that was going on??? Re: My C@ventry 33 - First row of bricks laid today 175May 04, 2009 10:40 pm When the brickies were just over half way the electricians came in for two days. It got really busy then with the plumbers also and the baths were delivered. It is all a bit of a blur now and I am always looking forward as to what might happen next. Very exciting times for you now. Dh thinks the bricking took more like 2-3 weeks. Re: My C@ventry 33 - First row of bricks laid today 176May 04, 2009 10:44 pm Thanks again for your replies MM almost want to take some leave and sit by with a chair out the front, with a few drinks and nibblies and watch all the work unfold... It is so funny how often I want to visit the house and even today I was getting nervous as to whether anything had been done or not...
