Oh yep we are fine, just been on the phone to the insurance people - no major damage! I know, we work together, our mums work together and we are both building and members of H1....amazing!! My karma ran over your dogma Re: My C@ventry 33 - More bricks delivered today 147May 02, 2009 11:33 am Well thought that I would drag my dad down to the house this morning to sweep up the mud on the slab, scoop some water out of the laundry etc... then wanted to try some curtains up as I am not sure if the white or cream would suit against the white birch windows, which are a tinge off white... To my surprise, the plumbers were there working away and a pile of sand has been delivered Will have to try the curtains out another day and Stormy, gave the bricks a bit of a cuddle Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The sand Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Future hot water service and the "dead side" Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The rear of the house from the back fence, sliding door is the theatre/rumpus and the other two windows are bedrooms Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Looking at where the oven etc.. will be, behind that is the dining and lounge area and the pipes sticking up is where the island bench is going Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: My C@ventry 33 - Sand delivered, plumbing on the way 148May 02, 2009 1:19 pm Looking good Tillie. I have no doubt in my mind you will rush ahead of me in terms of stages. Have they given you an indication of lock-up yet? Ours is still about 3 weeks away. Henley - Wilshire Mk 3 ... Not date of lock up as yet Stormy, but then I accidently found them on the block when they were scraping it, so I suppose I will get to the block one day and will be locked out Re: My C@ventry 33 - More bricks delivered today 151May 03, 2009 4:29 pm Tillie I was tempted to go in and start stacking a few around a window up to the roof line to get a sneak preview of how it is going to look I asked my DH to do this, he wouldn't of course!! I thought I was the only one who couldn't wait to see how it looked. I have to admit I took one brick home with me, hope they are not one brick short now!! Re: My C@ventry 33 - Sand delivered, plumbing on the way 152May 03, 2009 5:00 pm I laughed when I read you took a brick home. I did the same and we are going to run out of bricks. We are at lock up now but there is still some brick work to be done. Assuming more will come soon. My kids can't understand why I wanted to have one brick Re: My C@ventry 33 - Sand delivered, plumbing on the way 153May 03, 2009 5:48 pm I actually went and got a sample of just one brick before the house had even started and also had one each of the tiles, stone and laminax etc... I used to keep it all together and show friends and anyone that would listen, whether they were interested or not I did have a go at stacking the bricks, but was getting really ricketty and did not want any to break Re: My C@ventry 33 - Sand delivered, plumbing on the way 154May 03, 2009 9:20 pm Re: My C@ventry 33 - Sand delivered, plumbing on the way 155May 04, 2009 5:38 pm Happy to annpounce that the first row of bricks have been laid!!! I suppose all brickies are different but ours did sections and we didn't see them when the single row was done at the bottom. Looking good Re: My C@ventry 33 - First row of bricks laid today 157May 04, 2009 6:14 pm I think that they have been done all around the house, had a peek over the back fence and it does look like they have gone right round. I have to admit that I thought I would have a bit of a wall up at least Maybe they started late in the day or it is just their way of doing it.. I sure hope that it won't be one row per day Re: My C@ventry 33 - First row of bricks laid today 158May 04, 2009 6:15 pm Wooooohoooo!! It looks great! I love those bricks - gorgeous colour and a very nice texture to them Looking forward to seeing them do more My karma ran over your dogma Re: My C@ventry 33 - Sand delivered, plumbing on the way 159May 04, 2009 7:09 pm Tillie Happy to annpounce that the first row of bricks have been laid!!!
