A huge thanks for the photobucket tip hels it worked!!!! Not a great deal has happened on the inside as I am desperately waiting on the flooring to be completed I am SO over the dusty concrete floors!!! Fingers crossed that the concrete can be poured this coming week and then the gates to be put up as my poor dog has been kept inside and does have an area fenced off but it is not all that large, have got the new bedroom furniture being delivered on Monday as well as all the floor tiles ready for the 11th of Jan BF has been quite handy around the place with a merbau screen in between the house and garage which is going to have a fern type like garden for a bit of a "delightful" feel, it is his favorite word at the minute He has started on the merbau decking today which is going from the rumpus room doors to the back garden, should be done in a few days. Matilda is beautiful, her tongue is so pink Your mums painting is interesting isn't it Love the outside lights, really effective. The deck is nearly finished, but I have lost him again to cricket today, as he has training to go to I helped him a little as I can be such a hinderance at times also to try and get it done, but it shall just have to wait for another day. That is one awesome deck and an obviously very talented BF! Did he also build the merbau screen? Will you put up shade sail or something over the deck or will it not need it? Your Mum's artwork reminds me of DH response when I admired some [albeit expensive] Aboriginal artwork - he reckons he can do something just as good for no cost at all... so it just depends on whether her artwork looks like something that you want The pic of Matilda is fabulous! Your deck is covering up the weep holes in your brick work. This could possibly provide an entry point for termites into your home What i would consider is that the board closest to the house be screwed down so you can open it up once per month and inspect for any mud runs or the like and hope that your termite protection system is up to scratch. But still, even leaving that is a risk. As i said, i feel awful for telling you this as that deck does look great. Might want to put some thought into how this could be corrected. Maybe seek some professional advise - to be honest, i dont know much about the little buggers - but I have seen walls being held together by the thickness of the paint so it does ring alarm bells for me. Best Wishes Re: A*J C@ventry 33 - Deck nearly finished 06/01 pics 699Jan 09, 2010 10:41 am Will be sure to let BF about the points you raised Lunchtime, thanks. The termite protection is placed just below the weep holes, it is a mesh type application.
