Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 10, 2009 1:54 pm Hi to all,
This is a pic of my block, it is 892sqm Here is my current plan of the home I am about to build, just waiting upon the final post contract variation form and plans to check over and then sign off on them hopefully 4th time lucky As on a previous thread which I had, I currently have a front tap and that's it, but hopefully for not too much longer. I am really sorry about the size of the photos/scanned plan Cheers, Tillie Re: A*J C@ventry 33 - Carpet laid updated pics 02/03 2Feb 10, 2009 4:27 pm Hey Tillie,
Nice big block!! We were going to build the Coventry 33 too with AVJ in a H&L package before we moved over to Henley. The Coventry is a lovely house, lots of open space to entertain and lots of light! Hey is it me, or are you missing a garage on your plan?? Re: A*J C@ventry 33 - Carpet laid updated pics 02/03 3Feb 10, 2009 5:07 pm Phoenix, you are right in regards to all the light, that's what I love about it. I have however added some cavity doors so the house can be closed off as required.
Yes the picture is missing the garage, but it shall be detached from the house, hence why it is not on that plan, due to the shape of the block and being located in a cul-de-sac with a driveway off the main street, Re: A*J C@ventry 33 - Carpet laid updated pics 02/03 4Feb 10, 2009 6:41 pm oh yeah, tillie, this is a sensational home, on an even more sensational block. Well done young lady, now you just gotta work out how to get them to start building!
Can't wait to see this one go up tho... Annie A thankful person is a happy person. [/color]My hobby design blog: http://aviewondesign.blogspot.com/ Re: A*J C@ventry 33 - Carpet laid updated pics 02/03 5Feb 10, 2009 9:18 pm Very nice.

The bricks are PGH Pearl Grey and the roof tiles are the Tudor style in Barramundi. The Gutters are Woodland grey with both the fascia and downpipes in Dune. Garage door in Dune also. Windows and sliding doors in white birch. The floor tiles to all the wet areas are the larger brownish floor tile and the cream ones are the wall tiles, I have gone for all the same throughout the wet areas with little differences in each though. The paint throughout the house shall be Antique white USA. This is the laundry and it has a bench in it which shall be stipple hemp and wall tiles shall be laid vertically. Also included with the builder's "specials" are the bowl like basins and tower mixer taps, shower rail and a spa which is re-located to the bathroom. There are also recessed shelves which are in the Formica walnut colour. The kitchen is also the same, boring I know but it has the rivergum biege glass splashback, there is also an area above the fridge with shelving and that shall be in the formica walnut colour. Cannot believe how long it took me to add all the pics Re: A*J C@ventry 33 - Carpet laid updated pics 02/03 9Mar 04, 2009 9:27 am I thought now that the plans have been signed that I would also include the colours that I have chosen way back in Nov '08

Light but with a bit of interest and texture. I think your colours will look great. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. I hear ya girlfriend! sleepless nights for me, just over the bricks, yes the bricks, what has my life come to! +1 about the sleepless nights!! It's not an easy decision, I reverted to quite neutral colours to be safe 'A bottle of wine contains more philosophy than all the books in the world.' Hopefully it will not be too long before I have some more pics to add Re: My Coventry 33 - Still awaiting a site supervisor 16Mar 23, 2009 7:55 pm Well it has been sometime since my last update and that is only as NOTHING has started... I am OVER the front tap.. The plans were to be at the siting office approx 2 weeks ago, but were not submitted due to short of staffing issues and unable to photocopy my file??? I did have a conversation with a manager last Thursday and then an email last Friday to confirm that the siting office has recieved my file and that it shall be 5-10 days before they are on site... Fingers crossed that there maybe a porta-loo and temporary fencing at the least hopefully by the end of the week. I had never suspected that building a house could lead to so many disappointments Re: My Coventry 33 - Plans signed 17Mar 23, 2009 8:17 pm They still haven't started??? Are you kidding? They couldn't photocopy a file..... now I have heard it all. I'm so sorry Tillie, hopefully something happens soon! I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: My Coventry 33 - Awaiting a site supervisor 18Mar 23, 2009 8:24 pm Yep that was the excuse I was given, have kept the email Seriously if I didn't laugh at this experience I would have gone nuts ages ago... I am glad to hear that you have chosen your house and congrats on the new addition of the cat Re: My Coventry 33 - Plans signed 19Mar 23, 2009 8:28 pm Oh thank you! I'm still in the delusional stage where I think it will all go well. I'm glad you can still see the funny side of your situation, I'm not sure if I would. Keep the email, that's gold, definitely fridge worthy! I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: My Coventry 33 - Plans signed 20Mar 25, 2009 2:49 pm Hi Tillie, My parents will be building the same house! and i think they're at about the same stage as you as well, would be interesting to follow the progress of both. your experience is very similar to what they have gone through as well, same reasons given (shortness of staff etc). It took 5 weeks to get the variations and costings after colour selections which is waaaay too long. Ive posted a thread with their details, they did a few changes to the original house plan. I had new concrete laid, extended the alfresco and had the sidewalks concreted too. I noticed the concreter didn't put the expansion foam anywhere, there are expansion… 0 8109 1 10997 1 15729 |
