What are you putting in that circular area near the front of the house where the letterbox is? Love the amount of concrete you have - future kids/nieces/nephews will love burning their bikes and scooters on that space!! My karma ran over your dogma Re: A*J C@ventry 33 - Concreting completed pics 15/01 703Jan 15, 2010 3:26 pm That looks really good Tillie, well done!! Soooooooooo much concrete, bet you are glad for no more mud now when going to your front door! Is the flooring going in soon? YAY!!! Over the weekend, we have turned over alot of soil ready for the manure and gardens hopefully this week. Fence posts have been put in for the front fence, which shall look like the merbau screen. Dad came and gave us a hand and accidently pierced through a water hose out the front, called a plumber and after about 10 mins of work and $180 all was well The furniture which is on the deck has also been stained, thankfully just in time for the lovely rain that we had The gates should be installed either today or tomorrow so Matilda will have a yard again as opposed to a small boundary Will post some pics on my next days off Re: A*J C@ventry 33 - Concreting completed pics 15/01 705Jan 19, 2010 9:20 am The fence posts for the front have gone in yesterday and I have just painted them this morning. Hopefully by the weekend the fence shall be ready for me to do some more painting It shall be similiar to the merbau screen that BF built in between the garage and house. Hoping for the gates to be installed today as they were not done yesterday, maybe due to the rain?? Have got a seat cushion for the bench but it is not waterproof, a lovely green colour. This is where a shade sail will be installed in a charcoal colour over the deck to ease with the afternoon sunlight Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Front fence posts Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: A*J C@ventry 33 - More pics 19/01 706Jan 19, 2010 9:31 am Oh I love the the little decking!! Re: A*J C@ventry 33 - More pics 19/01 709Jan 19, 2010 8:14 pm Looking just fantastic, Tillie!! Loving the deck and all the concrete, looks amazing! You are way ahead of me now...I still can't decide how I want my front fence to look, and can't do the driveway and paths until I have decided... Decking to the alfresco will happen one day, but Hubby has to be home long enough to be able to do it I hope you are settling in well!! Henley - Wilshire Mk 3 ... I love my house!! Lisanne: Must post on your thread to ask/read up on what you used to seal your pots with the chillies in them Will be sure to keep posting pics especially once the flooring is done I am so over the concrete slab!!! Kek: Thanks, we were thinking of putting a pot of with some yuccas in itwhere the angled section of the deck meets the straight section, but just have not found the right pot as yet Stormy: Thanks I was very impressed with BF talent and the concreter was brilliant. I am not as yet settled in really as I am still waiting for the flooring to be done which should not be too far away so we are living in the front lounge now as that will have carpet once the tiling is completed. Also so much new furniture is still in boxes as I was dreading moving it all for the flooring. Love the chrissy bow on your gorgeous doors too!! Well as I was home yesterday BF came home a little earlier and said that he wanted the front fence done by the time the cricket started at what he thought was 6.30pm, however as it was in QLD it started an hour later and we had already packed up just before his original said time. Also I was pre-drilling holes into the merbau, when it was time for him to use the drill it broke, ofcourse it was "my fault", but he was only kidding Here are some pics of the progress so far Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Well am off outside to painted it. I actually prefer that fence to the one we have with the silver posts - I am very impressed with BF's efforts My karma ran over your dogma Re: A*J C@ventry 33 - Front fence progress pics 19/01 712Jan 20, 2010 11:05 am You know in the beginning when I first saw your plan a long time ago... I was a little unsure about having the garage away from the house. But I do need to say with all your hard work... concreting/fencing/planting etc its really connecting it so well. Every time I see you have updated with pics i'm so eager to see! You shold be so proud of what you are achieving! NO EXPECTATIONS, NO DISAPPOINTMENTS! Remember, amateurs built the ark, and professionals built the Titanic." Re: A*J C@ventry 33 - Front fence progress pics 19/01 714Jan 21, 2010 6:45 am Hels: There are actually not too many people who have front fences here in the estate, there are only my self and another house which has a steel tubular style of fencing in the entire strees of about 36 or so houses. As I am in a cul-de-sac type area, I always wanted to have some kind of fencing as before Christmas, I went to take some rubbish out to the bin and found two girls jumping the fence from our side to the neighbours who have not as yet moved in. I asked them what they thought they were doing and they were taking a shortcut! Haywgl: Your fence with the steel looks gorgeous, wish BF knew how to weld Boiselfish: I had trouble in finding many houses that would actually fit on the block, with what I wanted in a house, as there is a corner taken off it and with the easement etc... When I purchased the block about 6-7 years ago I did not even think to ask about an easement, but it has all worked out now and considering I have never had access to a garage from the house let alone use it for cars I feel that I am not missing anything I am glad to hear that the garage is connecting well as during the build I was afraid that it would stand out too much alone. Well the gates went up yesterday and have finished the painting to the front fence, BF needs to chop bits off the posts that are too long and once his drill is fixed, completed the other side Deadside of the house gate: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Pergola side of the house with double gates: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The front fence in 90mm merbau as the screen and deck were 75mm: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Hoping to have some soil delivered and bark maybe by the weekend so we can get started in the gardens, at least the front ones Re: A*J C@ventry 33 - Front fence painted and gates fitted 20/01 715Jan 21, 2010 6:53 am Wow Tillie, it is looking soooo good!! I might have won the bricking race, but you have definately won the landscaping race! DH and I are still arguing over what we are going to do! I had new concrete laid, extended the alfresco and had the sidewalks concreted too. I noticed the concreter didn't put the expansion foam anywhere, there are expansion… 0 8108 1 10973 1 15704 |
