Re: Chateau Lisa - Carpet 1587Sep 15, 2009 2:51 pm ARGH!!! I just called my SS and asked how the Final Inspection went today for the COO and he said he doesn't know that till tomorrow. So I then asked if PCI was still booked in for next week and his reply was 'Has that been booked in has it?' ARGH!! OMG! Panic just went through my head. So I explained that my CSA said that my PCI would be a week after the Final Inspection done today and then handover would be the weekafter, so 22nd and 29th - he didn't seem to pleased about this as evidently there has been an issue with the shower screens which aren't going in till Thursday and then he booked an inspection for Friday - what inspection I don't know! Anyway so I explained to him that I've given rental notice based on the dates that my CSA has given me and booked removalists and annual leave and everything! ARGH! And explained that my CSA said giving rental notice for a week later was fine, I especially told her that I had given notice. My SS is going to call my CSA and sort something out and he said 'don't worry, we will get it organised for you and I will get your CSA to call you' Bloody hell! All this on top of being told today that I can't get a home phone line due needing to do a "Major Cable Upgrade" or something to the exchange - What on earth that means I don't know but I've asked the lovely WBA to see what he can find out. I'm hoping it just means that their cables are all there but they just need to turn them on to the rest of the street where I am or something as I could be the first in this new part of my street to try to get a phone connected. But I really don't know and it could take gawd knows how long if it isn't as simple as what I'm hoping it is 'A bottle of wine contains more philosophy than all the books in the world.' Telstra really gives me the sh!ts so it doesn't surprise me at all. How will you cope without your phone and internet? Maybe wireless will be the way to go, I don't know too much about these type of things as that's DH's dept Hopefully your SS will sort out the PCI and handover issues. Good job you mentioned it to him though. They tried to change ours but we said no because there is just way too much to try and change at short notice. My house is almost complete now, just the painter to come back (tomorrow) and a few minor things to sort out Blog: http://bluemistkids.blogspot.com "Never be afraid to try something new. I would keep on your SS back and tell him you'll be bunking with him if he doesn't get something sorted and FAST!! It's not that you are being pushy it is just you have been given a date and you have made the appropriate plans to vacate your Rental They really need to get the A into G and sort it out. My fingers are crossed for you and hope you have get a positive resolution tomorrow. ARRRRRHHHH I hate TELSTRA TOOO! LATROBE 320 WITH DENNIS FAMILY HOMES Re: Chateau Lisa - ARGH! 1590Sep 15, 2009 6:03 pm Take a deep breath, Lisa. Then a big glug of red wine..... I'm sure that PD will push things through for you. Bugger about Telstra though. Typical - nothing much has changed in 30 years. New estates along Plenty Rd have had massive delays with phone connections since the late 70s. We had to wait 4 months for our phone in 1986 - and there were no mobiles back then. Only one phone box in the whole suburb too.... Good luck!! Re: Chateau Lisa - ARGH! 1591Sep 16, 2009 12:57 am Oh bUmmer lisa Am sure things will work out for your handover etc... Is there anyone who actually likes Telstra? And Telstra wonders why they can't retain customers (especially those who relocate or move into a new house)! I hopefully will know more today. As for Telstra - what can you do? It's a bit of a joke but yeah.... I'm not too fussed about the home phone as such, but no internet? I can use my iphone for a lot of stuff but still, might have to investigate to see what pre-paid wifi plans are about - can you actually get pre-paid wifi? thechlochlo :( Oh Lisa that sucks!!!! My SS said he would get my CSA to call me back - surprise surprise I didn't get a call yesterday, so I will call her this morning if I don't hear from her. Telstra should rename themselves to PITA sometimes Hopefully it is just because I am the first in this part of the street to request a line and they just need to enable/connect the cabling that's in place. kek Take a deep breath, Lisa. Only one phone box in the whole suburb too.... Good luck!! Thanks Kek! No time for that glass of wine last night but depending on how things pan out today it might happen tonight! I know that there isn't much left to do on the house splashback, shower screens and external paint and then just touch ups inside so I know that there is plenty of time for that, but as I mentioned above, I'm concerned about getting the documentation to the bank in time for it all to happen. Telstra is so big that I'm sure this is a normal event for them, I can't tell you how happy I am to hear about the changes the Government announced yesterday for Telstra - it's what should have happened 15+ years ago! Telstra wholesale should not be in the game to make money, they should be 100% owned by the government IMO. tc2000 Oh bUmmer lisa Am sure things will work out for your handover etc... Is there anyone who actually likes Telstra? And Telstra wonders why they can't retain customers (especially those who relocate or move into a new house)! If you know how Telstra works they aren't too bad but they are VERY frustrating at times, I just think some of their procedures are a bit slow and uninformative, but then they are so big that it wouldn't be easy to change. -fingers crossed- for some good news today! I hope it works out for you, we were in a similar situation, but somehow it worked out, to a degree Re: Chateau Lisa - ARGH! 1594Sep 16, 2009 11:36 am SuH Sorry lisa that's cr@p, surely these "people" realise we organise ourselves around dates given to us by them it's ridiculous. I hope it works out for you, we were in a similar situation, but somehow it worked out, to a degree I don't think they realise, but once my SS knew he did say he would sort it out and it looks like he has! I've just spoken to my CSA and PCI and handover will still be on the 22nd/29th respectively! It hasn't been locked in officially yet as my SS needs to hand over the dates on actual paper, but he is in the office today and it will be done today! -relief- Now I just need to make sure I get the paperwork to the bank in time - anyone know at what point they need the COO? Can it be faxed to them a few days before handover, so after the request for the final payment? My CSA has asked finance to raise the final invoice ASAP, so I figure if I get that this week then I can kick start the process with the bank 'A bottle of wine contains more philosophy than all the books in the world.' My stoopid bank said they didn't have it even after 3 faxes and it delayed handover by 1 day Blog: http://bluemistkids.blogspot.com "Never be afraid to try something new.
