Browse Forums Building A New House Re: EBH Bridgeport 26..brick cleaning almost done.. 42Jun 08, 2009 12:23 pm Have added some more pictures to the blog. One again I found the front security gate opened, so this time rather than just close it, I took a walk around and took some snaps I noticed one thing that is bugging me a lot - the hinges that hold the doors are already in place for the garage door and laundry door.. and well..they're rusting already!? WTF?? http://casadelscaramanga.blogspot.com/ Re: EB Bridgeport 26..insulation, walls going in 43Jun 13, 2009 11:37 pm Acoustic insulation, walls, ceilings going in I've added tonnes of new pictures at http://casadelscaramanga.blogspot.com/ Re: EB Bridgeport 26..insulation, walls going in 45Jun 14, 2009 3:51 pm hi Southies EBH are doing everything How long was it from the walls going up to hand over for you? I'm trying to determining how long I have.. I'm thinking a couple of months now Franco Re: EB Bridgeport 26..insulation, walls going in 46Jun 14, 2009 4:52 pm franco hi Southies EBH are doing everything How long was it from the walls going up to hand over for you? I'm trying to determining how long I have.. I'm thinking a couple of months now Franco Do you mean the frame or the gyprock ?? From frame - 7 months From plaster - 4 months Remember though, ours is dbl storey, so yours shouldn't take so long Built the Eden Brae Cambridge 34 Family with Boston Corner Facade Re: EB Bridgeport 26..insulation, walls going in 48Jun 14, 2009 5:55 pm franco Based on your response, it sounds like they put plaster on the gyprock? I wasn't aware of that Thanks No,no.......it's just another way of saying gyprock. I guess the cornices will go in next week. Lot's more pictures posted at http://casadelscaramanga.blogspot.com/ Re: EB Bridgeport 26..doors..cabinets in.. 52Jun 24, 2009 5:40 am Received a call from Di Lorenzo.... they don't have the bathroom tiles I selected.... and I knew this would happen... so much for they having ample supply for the job and that they would be put away at the time I selected them..... Finding reliable people these days is difficult... Now I need to go back and make a new tile selection... Lots of pics at http://casadelscaramanga.blogspot.com/ Re: EB Bridgeport 26..doors..cabinets in... 53Jun 24, 2009 6:59 am Yes, I remember this scenario quite clearly too . I had even gone back to DL twice to get the 1st tile right because I had difficulties with their limited selection!! All to no avail of course. This is TOTALLY Eden Brae's fault. Their policy of making the customer choose tiles almost a year before tiling is bloody ridiculous. Bedding for wet areas by tilers has gone in. Gas meter has been connected as has electricity. Garage door in. Looking good. More pictures at http://casadelscaramanga.blogspot.com/ Re: EB Bridgeport 26..bench tops going in.. 55Jul 01, 2009 11:59 pm Hi Franco - Great progress it's looking really good. Rgds Leonard. Re: EB Bridgeport 26..tiling..water tank.. 56Jul 15, 2009 6:08 pm Thanks for the messages It is moving along again. EB did a 1 meter perimeter clean around the house. The tilers are now doing their thing. They are moving along pretty slowly, the quality looks great. Judging at their pace however, I figure the tiling won't be done till sometime next month.. am not complaining though.. Once the tiling is done, painting both inside and out as well as electrical need to be done. Almost there! heaps of new pics at http://casadelscaramanga.blogspot.com/ Re: EB Bridgeport 26..tiling..water tank in.. 57Jul 23, 2009 12:32 pm Tiling in the bathrooms/powder rooms is complete. It looks pretty good.. to me anyway The painter was in yesterday and did an "undercoat" I think they call it. Tiling to the floors should start today as well. Getting very close, floor tiling to entire home, painting inside and out, electrical and appliances is pretty much all that remains.. I should be in by mid September I reckon.. New pictures at http://casadelscaramanga.blogspot.com/ Re: EB Bridgeport 26..sparkies doing their work 58Aug 03, 2009 2:40 pm It is coming along nicely putting aside some "minor" issues so far Air con is in, lighting is mostly done, painting also practically done.. about all that remains is tiling to the living areas. Heaps of new pictures here http://casadelscaramanga.blogspot.com Re: EB Bridgeport 26..main floors tiling started 59Aug 06, 2009 1:42 pm I like the colour combinations now, it is really coming together. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_3Lw7DQFyI0g/SnpNzLoHKWI/AAAAAAAAAg8/TkagSv2htkc/s1600-h/DSC00946.JPG http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_3Lw7DQFyI0g/SnpNyrauTuI/AAAAAAAAAg0/LVYnYn_NJ5c/s1600-h/DSC00945.JPG My site supervisor has told me today that I can do the walk through on August 24th!! Franco Re: EB Bridgeport 26..tiling started..hand over Aug 24th!!!!!!!! 60Aug 06, 2009 2:15 pm Received an email from the builder today saying they have noticed me going on site and that I shouldn't since it is dangerous etc and that I should book an appointment with the Site Supervisor. They are right in saying this of course I just find it amusing, that on several occasions I have found doors, windows and gates left open allowing anybody access to my home. The way I see it, I am protecting my investment. On each occasion that I've found windows, doors etc left open after the tradies left I have informed the building company. So, while they are right with their request, I think it takes some big balls on their part to even say it. I have dropped by the site every day for pretty much 5 months. Have only ever gone in when a tradesperson was there. The fact that I have done so has kept the place secure. If i hadn't I am sure many items would have been stolen, damaged etc. I've had to close windows and doors on many occasions after they left for the day. What about their responsibilities of locking the site down every day? Bueller.... Bueller... anyone... anyone home?? Amazing stuff, at least to me I work with owner, he/she is my man on the ground and I instruct them when to visit the site and take photos and I have other tools in the bag. 4 15275 I am in the same situation, would you be able to give some insights in to this? I am in SA 8 17047 Depends what you're current inclusions are, but we're not including wardrobes and will just use second hand ones until we can save later on to get them built. Also have a… 3 11632 |
