Browse Forums Building A New House Building EBH Bridgeport 26.. building recommences.. :-) 21Mar 16, 2009 10:30 pm EBH have finally started work after the asbestos situation was cleared up with the demo company.. they issued a certificate stating all clear..
Progress has been rapid as you can see from the pictures.. I'm not sure how many tonnes they brought in, it's a **** though judging by the photos. Houses looks to stand very high and the slab hasn't even been laid yet! Someone explain to me how to get images in here http://casadelscaramanga.blogspot.com/ Re: EB Bridgeport 26....done! Amazing! Well, for a lil while at least! Pics at http://casadelscaramanga.blogspot.com/ Re: Building EBH Bridgeport 26.. frame complete!! I think!? 24Apr 18, 2009 8:00 pm I have been traveling and busy with work so have been away. Checkout the home when I got back and the frame I am told by EBH is complete. Does it look complete though? Aren't all the external walls supposed to have those wooden/compressed wood boards nailed up against them so that when the insulation and acoustic insulation goes in they have something to rest up against? Or are they expected to rest against the concrete walls?? Anyone know? New pictures at: http://casadelscaramanga.blogspot.com/ Re: Building EBH Bridgeport 26.. frame complete!! Or are they expected to rest against the concrete walls?? The ply boards are only htere to provide some structural support to the roofing. They have nothing to do with supporting insulation. The guttering was put in yesterday. Roof tiles were delivered today so judging by the scaffolding put in place today, I think the tiles will be going in over the next couple of days. I wasn't sure what to expect as far as build times.. but EBH are absolutely smoking through the build it seems. Bricks should be arriving any day now as well. Update pics on my blog http://casadelscaramanga.blogspot.com/ Re: Building EBH Bridgeport26..sarking on..roof tiles being laid 27Apr 23, 2009 4:03 pm Very exciting stuff.. perhaps the roof tiles will be fully laid by COB Friday/tomorrow this week. I've asked for a quote on sisalation on the external walls as well... waiting pics at http://casadelscaramanga.blogspot.com/ Re: Building EBH Bridgeport26..sarking on..roof tiles being laid 28Apr 23, 2009 8:51 pm Does it matter which order they go on first, you're getting your roof done first but both Southies & I had our bricks done first - does it matter? Re: Building EBH Bridgeport26..sarking on..roof tiles being laid 29Apr 23, 2009 8:55 pm Hermyleen, Maybe we had bricks done 1st, due to our houses being double storey ? BTW great progress franco - let's hope EB keeps it up Built the Eden Brae Cambridge 34 Family with Boston Corner Facade Re: Building EBH Bridgeport26..sarking on..roof tiles being laid 30Apr 24, 2009 8:56 am I don't know what the difference is re roof tiles first or bricks first.. probably what Southies said and you're building a double story. All that said, I hope the brick layers don't have a problem putting the bricks up because the roofing went on first!! EBH contacted me to tell me that PGH informed them that they had sufficient bricks however they were from different batches! So we agreed that was too risky and to wait for the required number of bricks to be made from a single batch to avoid colour variations, so that will delay things by two weeks at least. I wonder also if the location of the build (closer to the city) or further away has anything to do with the speed of the build. Bugger, that is such a PAIN! Patience in this game is a necessity. I don't think location affects the build, I'm building in the North West (Hills District) and Southies are building 'South' we started at the same time and pretty much during the whole build have only been a week or two apart. Re: Building EBH Bridgeport 26..roof tiles on..sisalation now 33Apr 30, 2009 7:39 pm Roof tiles have been laid! Sisalation going up.. should be done tomorrow I think. And finally, bricks arrived today! I wasn't expecting these until mid May, I guess they fired up a new batch just for me! Luck has to run out soon.... pics at: http://casadelscaramanga.blogspot.com/ Re: Building EBH Bridgeport 26..bricks going up! 35May 05, 2009 7:17 pm Bricks started going up today. Not sure how long this will take but they've done a fair bit already. At this rate they may be done by Friday.. possibly Monday/Tuesday at latest!! More pics at.. http://casadelscaramanga.blogspot.com/ Re: Building EBH Bridgeport 26..bricks going up! 36May 05, 2009 8:35 pm hey franco is this enviroseal wall wrap an upgrade? Re: Building EBH Bridgeport 26..bricks about done! 38May 16, 2009 8:34 am Bricks are practically done. Air conditioning people will be going monday to put the AC in. I must say, my Site Supervisor is kicking ***! http://casadelscaramanga.blogspot.com/ Re: Building EB Bridgeport 26..bricks done..soffit to eaves don 39May 26, 2009 12:31 pm Brick work has been completed. They completed the soffit to the eaves around the house in 2 days. It's coming together. I'm not happy about what they've done to the corners of the front of the house to close the eaves area off though (those two white triangle areas seen in this picture; http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_3Lw7DQFyI0g/S ... C00438.JPG I'm going to have to speak to them about this unless it grows on me. I don't have the plans in front of me. Anyone know if the approach taken is normal? Pictures at http://casadelscaramanga.blogspot.com/ Re: Building EB Bridgeport 26..brick cleaning underway 40May 31, 2009 6:25 pm They started cleaning bricks late this week, almost done too. I'm liking the look of the house, it's really coming together now. They started and finished painting under the guttering as well. Pics can be found here.. http://casadelscaramanga.blogspot.com/ They should be starting the internal lining soon I think.. and at the rate they're moving along I may have the keys in August. Must start planning the landscaping now. Anyone got a good landscaper they can recommend? Thanks Franco I work with owner, he/she is my man on the ground and I instruct them when to visit the site and take photos and I have other tools in the bag. 4 15284 I am in the same situation, would you be able to give some insights in to this?
