Hi,
I remember seeing a display home here in Melbourne around 20 years ago that had a central courtyard and loved it. It was located in the middle of formal and informal living areas but was not four glass walls like this one.
With this one I would be concerned about the privacy issues, especially the main bedroom and ensuite. Even if you had no kids and people dropped around everything would be on show for them to see. No matter how house proud you are, there are times when you just want to shut a door but to have to draw curtains closed as well makes it a little more obvious that you are trying to hide something (or somebody ).
I would only want to use this type of area as a casual sitting area with plants etc. but wonder how tranquil it would be if you have kids and they are running around the house, tv's going, stereo's, cooking smells, hmmm..... maybe just a feature after all.
As for resale, we are all individuals but it wouldn't be my ideal home for the above reasons but going by a lot of other responses there are plenty of people who would love it!!
Good luck with your decision.
