Browse Forums Building A New House Re: roof sarking & cor@l homes... 21Feb 07, 2009 11:35 pm yeah i didn't think of the pantry shelves either until the lovely sales lady jeanette from redbank plains suggested it, she said she had build a hayman and was very unhappy with the shelve width, at first she thought it might about $150 or so to extend all the shelves, but then she did the calculations and said nope, only $63.00 well worth it for the extra space... 2014 - Prepping to build the Soho 4 with Plantation homes, industrial style 2009 - Built the Brampton with Coral Homes viewtopic.php?f=31&t=15399&start=280 Re: roof sarking & cor@l homes... 22Feb 07, 2009 11:44 pm hi lyvid, mine won't have a coral sign yet have to pay intial deposit on monday, but it is the only corner block with a sold sign it is about 50 m down on the other side of the road from the one with the coral sign (that is lot 123, i think) fernvale heights is very nice aswell extra big blocks! my manager has kids who go to fernvale state school, she said she thought about sending him to Westmac but heard such good things about fernvale from the locals that she sent him there instead! p.s. so many people go to fernvale just for the bakery...he he 2014 - Prepping to build the Soho 4 with Plantation homes, industrial style 2009 - Built the Brampton with Coral Homes viewtopic.php?f=31&t=15399&start=280 Re: roof sarking & cor@l homes... 23Feb 08, 2009 12:55 am Oh, I think I know which is your block now. Very nice. You must be so excited. It has been such a long wait for us too. With lots of ups and downs along the way. Can't wait to get the ball rolling, just have to get the financial stuff sorted first. I am so nervous about hidden costs, just don't want to run short.
Thanks for the suggestion about the pantry shelves - I have added it to my (already long) list. So glad to hear some positive feedback about the school too. That really has been my biggest concern with trying to find somewhere to build. Especially if you want to build somewhere affordable! What are Coral charging you for site costs (if you don't mind me asking)? Their brochures are very grey on the subject. Also, what is the go with water tanks? I hear a 10000 litre tank is a requirement at Fernvale??? Re: roof sarking & cor@l homes... 24Feb 08, 2009 10:56 am yeah, my little boy will be starting prep is 2012, so schools were something i looked at aswell - i'm glad theres a few options... yep, very excited starting to stress a wee bit i am paying my intial deposit on monday so they can start doing the soil tests & contour survey, in my costing the estimate for site costs was $12,500 but that was without them seeing the block - when i met my sales consultant (john gaffney) out at the block he said it shouldn't be that high as no retaining will be necessary (just cut & fill batter - the front will be a little bit higher than it is now) and the block is big enough that the cut & fill batter won't be near any of the boundaries as such...
with the water tank tell them you want to purchase your own tank & pump and pay them to install it - they quoted $8613.00 for a 10,000 L tank, but i know i can pick up the tank & pump for less than $2000 (dad works at sprengers... he he ) coral will charge between $3000 & $3500 to install - saving of at least $3000 there also get someone else to do your driveway, i was referred to someone who will do the work out at fernvale, he does concrete for $55.00 pm2, exposed aggregate for $60 - $65 pm2 & can stencil on concrete for an extra $20 pm2 - that is a really good price! 2014 - Prepping to build the Soho 4 with Plantation homes, industrial style 2009 - Built the Brampton with Coral Homes viewtopic.php?f=31&t=15399&start=280 Re: roof sarking & cor@l homes... 25Feb 23, 2009 4:00 pm Building with Coral 2009 hi there, anyone who is building with coral,is it standard for them to include roof sarking with tile roofs or does this cost extra?
