Browse Forums Building A New House Re: PD/Alfresco Slab 21Feb 03, 2009 7:50 pm petal, i can't help myself not visiting the PD website pictures of Brookvale almost everyday
the Bridgewood is almost the same, so i can see the Bridgwood facade (Sante monica). (my 18-years-old is laughing at me, think i've got a problem - obsessed now i am in the stage of constantly thinking about the couches, furniture etc, what colour to get etc etc - here oops, here i go again) nh Re: PD/Alfresco Slab 22Feb 03, 2009 9:17 pm cascre We are 'building'?? with Porter Davis and the Alfresco under the roof line was included but not a slab. You couldn't even option it. That's for a prestige too. Must be a new thing?? Maybe not it has been almost a year since we signed with them. We signed up in June 2007, so it wasn't included, and like you, when we asked they said "NO" - Prestige again . After all of your trouble and delays, I would think they should ABSOLUTELY do it for you - it's been included since mid-late last year, and they haven't even done the site cut yet, have they? I reckon you are entitled to it!!!!! Solidarity, not solidity.......The Lexicon of Life Re: PD/Alfresco Slab 23Feb 03, 2009 9:18 pm nh there's a Brookvale (I think) going in not that far from us, with the Santa Monica facade - not far from the carpet place I told you about! Solidarity, not solidity.......The Lexicon of Life Re: PD/Alfresco Slab 25Feb 04, 2009 9:40 am We're building the Brookvale with PD and as standard, the alfresco and portico isn't included. But because of the type of land/soil that we have....(terminology deficient here).....we needed a different class of slab. And because of that....we got our portico and alfresco area concreted. So while you can't have those areas added as an option. I believe that if you upgrade to a different class of slab...you will get those areas concreted.
I hope I was more help than confusing. heheheh Our building journey has begun: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=23138 Brookvale 45 by Porter Davis ************** Lead me not into temptation.....I can find the way myself. Re: PD/Alfresco Slab 26Feb 04, 2009 9:49 am I know the fact that if your slab is M-class, some of the house plans doesn't come with the slab part for your alfresco, that included Carlisle homes main range too. But if your slab needs to be a H-class, then they'll pour the alfresco area too..for structural reason I suppose??! that's what i heard from the Carlisle guy anyway. II guess that's why the site costs is much more for a H-class slab. I kow AVJenning don't do the concret part even if you have the option to upgrade for an alfresco, which only cost you $6k. Yes, PD is including the slab for alfresco for prestige series, not sure about lifestyle... Re: PD/Alfresco Slab 27Feb 04, 2009 10:07 am Depends when you went to tender with PD. We are building prestige and had our tender late September 2008. At that stage we did not get the alfresco/porch concrete included. I believe that it relates to tenders or deposits from a certain date. Re: PD/Alfresco Slab 28Feb 04, 2009 10:10 am Yeah, we recalled seeing a slab under the decking at the display home in Berwick, but when the slab was poured, no slab in the alfresco out the back. We double-checked the plans--sure enough, no slab on the plans. Should have picked that up, really--although with any house build there's bound to be something you miss.
We'll examine our options when the time comes; we've earmarked around $40,000 as the cost of "after-moving-in" stuff. --Mike Everything I know, I learned from SBS.
