As my builder (PD) uses the standard HIA contract - is it really worthwhile spending the money getting my solicitor to check it? The things I just need to make sure of are that the site costs state that they are fixed and that all the pricing is correct - has anyone had their solicitor check theirs? What else should I be looking for or be aware of? 'A bottle of wine contains more philosophy than all the books in the world.' Reading the contract is normally part of the fixed price conveyancing fee for a solicitor. I have a solicitor doing my land sale, but I'm wondering if there is a need to get her to read my house contract or not seeing as it is the standard HIA building contract 'A bottle of wine contains more philosophy than all the books in the world.' They are available for $65 in Victoria with 6 months worth of telephonic support (No legal advice, though) Thanks, I used this kit - it's fantastic, easy to use now that LandVic is online and you can request all certificates required in a couple of minutes (with a credit card to pay). They all come by email. This is easy peasy - I highly recommend it! Any questions, just ask me anytime, happy to help. Annie A thankful person is a happy person. My land settles in July and I am also looking for a good priced conveyancer Cheers lisanne thlo Hi lisanne, did you manage to find a good one? I hope so!! I had a friend recommend a solicitor that she has used three times before, $605 fixed fee for the land settlement. I spent an hour with her yesterday going over the land contracts and she seems really nice. Re: Conveyancer or Solicitor? 32May 28, 2009 9:09 am We used a Conveyencor for all our legal and transfer on the land which costs us $500. And we are going to use a solicitor for the contract which is going to cost us $165 but that includes a report on the contract and the solicitor sits down with us and goes through it. Re: Conveyancer or Solicitor? 33May 28, 2009 9:57 am Hey Focus06 Can you please PM me the details for both? $165? You may still have a case, but your next step is to speak to a lawyer. 3 1649 |
