Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 31, 2009 9:45 am Hi guys
We've started clearing our block in preparation for excavation work to be done and have dug up a lot of large, medium and smaller rocks. There are some beautiful large rocks there, but unfortunately the way our house has been planned - i really have nowhere to put them!! At least, not in a very constructive way! At this stage, if I can't find anyone who wants them, i'll just be getting them removed and dumped as they are currently in the way. As mentioned, they've all basically been dug out of the ground, but would require machinery and a truck to move the big ones. Anyway, thought i'd ask! Alternatively, if anyone knows of someone who can take them away for me, for a reasonable fee, let me know!! Cheers Adam Re: Anyone in Canberra want some rocks (blue-metal)??? 3Feb 01, 2009 3:47 pm Teddy Bär It is at least 6 months too soon for us Nothing wrong with planning early!! Where will you be building? Re: Anyone in Canberra want some rocks (blue-metal)??? 4Feb 01, 2009 10:12 pm Hey unfortunately we're a couple of months off landscaping too, otherwise I'd love some rocks! We're building at Macgregor, where are you both building? Our blog: http://20percenthouse.blogspot.com/ Re: Anyone in Canberra want some rocks (blue-metal)??? 5Feb 01, 2009 10:50 pm We will be building in Bungendore with G.J. Gardiner out of Nowra.
While we have the house plans being drawn up to submit to council and we know exactly where and how the house sits on the land to the metre, until the slab is down we will not know exactly how the land will play out. Very much a learning experience - but will hopefully be a fun adventure! We've thought about using them for landscaping on our block, but I'm having a hard enough time with making basic decisions - let alone even thinking about landscaping idea! haha At the moment, they're really just in the way...so getting rid of them (or at least most of them) is just the easiest option - one less thing to worry about!! Wow I hadn't realised things had gotten that pricey in just a couple of years since I built, that is crazy with how much land is now costing if you aren't lucky enough to… 3 7136 Fine with me... just let 'em step in with some affordable (but good) gear... 12 5498 I’m just in the process of replacing 2 stud walls that have been severely damaged by termites and am planning to use h2 blue pine. I just wanted to if anyone can advise… 0 52858 |
