I know Alkira have a couple of displays at Homeworld, pretty big from memory, and that's it! If I remember they were pretty $$ and had they "as displayed" price readily available - it was just waaaay out of ours! Still not in. Don't ask!? hi bel 3Jan 27, 2009 6:28 pm Hi bel!
Thanks for asking. Our plans are done and finalised. Deposit paid. We have a colour appointment next week, and are at this moment stressing about the exterior colours. I know that the exterior colours need to be given to Council. I really wanted a bit of pizzaz but have endedup with the opposite, oh well. The tender presenter said we had a few weeks to choose so I would imagine that they are drawing the ridgy didge plans for Council submission? Is that what happens? Yes I will start a thread as soon as they tell us the plans have gone to Council. Good idea. How are you going? I have been following your posts. Hope all is well. themax Re: Alkira Homes 4Jan 27, 2009 7:27 pm I've gone totally OT - whoops -maybe get your friends to join H1
Very exciting for you - yep you'll be in council before you know it! What happened to the glorious colors you were going to use?? Well DA is approved, but getting the construction cert is a whole new ball game - I don't want to play anymore - costing heaps all well gotta love the ups and downs of building!! Still not in. Don't ask!? Alkira Homes 5Jan 28, 2009 1:40 pm Thanks for asking the question re Alkira homes for me but I've now mastered registration .
Just a question/point regarding your plans and council. As of the 27th of February, new state planning laws in NSW come into force that greatly simply the council approval process. The laws reduce and simply what you have to do to achieve a complying development for all councils excluding conservation/heritage areas and the Kosiouscko (sp!) region. It's all spelled out the the Department of Planning web-site but the best feature is you can you use a private accreditor if you want but either way (council or private) they guarantee a 10 day turn-around for complying developments. While I believe that when I see it, it does sound alot better. I wont be submitting any plans until after the laws come into force. PS To anyone who has worked in the bureaucracy surrounding councils and approvals this legislation will deliver what you finally deserve....its called karma!!!!! Thanks 6Jan 28, 2009 2:07 pm Many thanks JB, very interesting info there. Sounds like you are a very knowledgable person I am sure a lot of us will benefit from what you have to contribute, so WELCOME.

I know some of your neighbours down there - I'm not sure its so much of a visa thats required as opposed to a change in religion!!! PS I will definetly pop down when the action starts......besides, I will probably be in the market for some cheap materials! I'm going to Mascot tomorrow to pick something up from Cookie - would like to see your plans if you have time. JB Ask for references and speak to them.
