Positives & Negatives appreciated. The Must haves and the can do withouts.. Looking at the House and Land Packages in Ropes Crossing. Eden Brae Specials, eg. extra living space, lifestyle, desinger or prestigue extras package? Any HELP!!! Greatly appreciated. House research is a headache and a half. Re: Eden Brae OXFORD 23 HELP....... 2Jan 26, 2009 10:55 pm As long as you like the house and area they will be building, then that all that matters. The packages are good. I know EB but went with another builder as I liked a different design. They offer the same packages as EB and we picked all of them.
Re the The Must haves and the can do withouts, well it depends on your budget. You can go crazy with all the extras like down lights, etc which can add up. I would recommend A/C. If you get tyles, choose the tyles you like now, even if they cost a little more as it is a pain to re tyle. For us, we went to all the builders and ours and looked at what they had, put together a list and gave it to our builder to quote us. If some items take us over budget, we can just take them out. Also do anything structural now if the house isnt built yet as it will cost a lot more later to add an extension. Check out some other builders, if you havent already and make sure you have your budget set. I know Ropes Crossing which is offering very good prices. Also do some research on the area, that is if you dont know the area, eg: what was there before they developed the land, what are the surrounding suburbs, crime in the area etc. If you are happy with the results, go for it Re: Eden Brae OXFORD 23 HELP....... 3Jan 27, 2009 8:36 am Will be watching the other replies as i am also building an Oxford 23, but in Spring Farm.
We are adding the 2 squares for $3000 (think it is $3500 with flooring). Gives us heaps more space. We are also changing the corner int he lounge room so it doesn't poke in. The master bed room WIR back to a normal one (ie no silly corner cut) and making it longer, we don't need two entry doors to the master room. umm, the laundry is being extended, we don't need a back porch there. Also adding a door from the hallway to the garage. And thinking of making the kitchen pantry deeper, but not sure on that one just yet. And also adding in ducted air con, with all these hot days, it seems a must. Good luck. (P.S if you talk to Jean from Eden Brae, she is very lovely.) I built with EB back on 2009.
