Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 26, 2009 11:41 am Hi All, Craig and I have deiced to Share our own story with all the homeone viewers. So far having a forum like this has been a god sent.... so i hope our Journey will help other people who are building there dream home. To start off we are building with Carlisle Homes. We fell in love with the Atlantique (Cranbourne Display) we knew that this was the house for us. We have also chosen Alamanda - Point Cook the place to live. Its a beautiful Estate with all the bells and whistles... but more importantly its closer to work. THE STORY SO FAR: On Wednesday the 14th we finally received our unconditional from the bank. Thursday morning Carlisle came and put in the temp fence and porta loo. (this was very unexpected - considering we went to the block on Sunday 18th to make sure our pegs were there ready to start) as you can imagine we were thrilled to see some action. Sunday 25th (Yesterday) we took Craig's parents to have a look at our block and our Estate. (We are currently living with them in the south East Suburbs- so we don't get to see our block much) Again Thrilled to see the piping sticking out of the ground! Craig's parents were thrilled about the Estate. * i have tried to put pictures of our progress - i cant seem to get it to work. i'm going to have to ask Craig to help - so i should have some soon. sorry about the long post- hopefully i'll remember to update this often! A few families from stage2 have moved in already and stage3 has started taking shape. I met my next door neighboure unexpectedly the other day and they are about to start too (i think they are with JG King).. Can't wait to move in now. We are building with Carlisle too. Our pipes were in and all ready for the slab just over a week ago, and last week they poured the slab Monday and by Friday we had half a frame. It happens quickly at the beginning and is very exciting! So I imagine yours should move to slab this week. Woohoo! We are in a similar situation that our block is a long way from where we live. So heading up weekly and more often if we know something has happened. Look forward to following your build! You can check out our blog or thread to see how quickly it moves. We now have an almost complete frame. We are basically just over a week ahead of you I think - although this week not so much was done given the weather of course. I imagine your frame will probably start tomorrow or very soon after. It is so cool to walk through the rooms. You would be the same as us, in that the display was the 36sq version, so you haven't walked in the 32 rooms. I am sure you will still think it is all more than big enough. We are building in Taylors Hill.... Yeah i know how you feel.. as soon as my wife walked into the Atlantique at Caroline Springs she was like "this is it" let alone we were about to go with another company??? but thats how it works sometimes!!! Let the fun begin!!! LDH Re: OUR DREAM HOME (Atlantique 32- 7 Days to handover???) 14Feb 03, 2009 8:41 am Hi Bec
Congratulation to your slab! I drove pass yesterday and got very excited, a lot of houses start to build in your street and the street further down… my street only has me and the one opposite, feeling a bit lonely… hope everyone is starting soon.. I can’t wait to move in, my SS said that I can expect a PCI in approx 6 weeks and hope it is true, but there are still a lot of things to be done Blog - http://clageonewhouse.blogspot.com/ Building Thread - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=10886&hilit=milan I am in, with my husband and my beautiful bunny Re: OUR DREAM HOME (Atlantique 32- 7 Days to handover???) 15Feb 08, 2009 1:36 pm Hi All,
WE HAVE A FRAME! ::cheerleader:: hehehe i didn't want to get my hopes up but on the way to the house i couldn't help but feel anxious. we haven't been disappointed yet but i had a bad feeling...i closed my eyes before we approached... once Craig turned in the street i opened my eyes and squealed! Carlisle have been so quick so far i don't even know why i was so nervous. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The View from the Rumpus Entrance.
