Browse Forums Building A New House Re: anyone building in tarneit? 61May 19, 2009 5:21 pm I got told by a developer that the rail link will go around the back of Tarneit, but it won't be a metro passenger line. All cargo and regional trains (vline etc) will go this way freeing up the werribee line. So all train goers from that area will still need to catch the train from werribee, hoppers and laverton. Has anyone heard the same? I think that is the "regional" rail splurge the fed gov has been going on about, which includes a regional rail link from werribee to sunshine, which has already been scheduled for one stop on the way at Tarneit. This is really good news for Tarneitians. We simply don't have public transport infrastructure (unless you call buses infrastructure) at the moment. Now we just need a date from the gov! hmmmm Annie this is a link to the pdf (MAP) http://www4.transport.vic.gov.au/vtp/pdfs/regional_rail_link.pdf if u look at the map, is it passing tarneit? yes I am told it is. The only stop between werribee and sunshine - regional train, that is better than metro IMO... Annie A thankful person is a happy person. If they work the same as Vline now, they will setdown but you won't be able to board. If you go to werribee now, you can't board the vline train to southern cross. From what I've been told, thos vline trains will go around the back of Tarneit to sunshine then the city..but you won't be able to get on cause we won't be classed as regional I've been searching the net and I can't find anything that really spells it out Deposits paid 29/4/09 Land settlement 12/08/09 Build contract signed 24/08/09 Colours done 28/09/09 BLOG-http://www.eljaysbuild.blogspot.com/ Re: anyone building in tarneit? 66May 20, 2009 6:54 pm you know I'm tempted just to call head office at vicrail and see what they say! so we can stop guessing... My thinking is the reason they do that in werribee is due to the fact werribee is also operated by metro. This could be some deal stuck between the two as so their not competing against each other for customers. I would think since there is no other option at tarneit they will pick up and drop off passengers. I believe the government has done some deal with dennis family corp too with giving up some land. So the train stations will be built at manor lakes (dennis family estate) and behind rose range (dennis family estate). I heard that from these two stations train stations. (wyndham vale and tarneit) Vline trains will then run all the way to the city and only stop at footscray and north melbourne and spencer st. Since it runs on its own dedicated tracks the whole way I would think that this will be a quicker way to the city then on the werribee line.
