Hi guys... I've been wondering whether to post as this is mostly a vent but any suggestions would be welcome!
In short, we're building with NBG in Melb. All was going well- from start to lock up took 2 months. That was end Oct.... all they've done since then install the benches, garage door and clean the bricks.
We met on site with our builder the first week of Nov and he was still semi- confident that it would be done by Xmas.... yeah right.
my big issues are....
house has been constantly unlocked for days on end- I've reported it to the builder and nothing has happened
we've paid for temp fencing in the contract- STILL not installed.
we had a FIRE in kitchen caused by one of his tradies- we informed him of this as his tradies didn't tell him. this has cause some damage to the laminate that has not been replaced but they've installed the bench tops- idiots
we've had someone through the house a number of times looking for stuff to nick - the neighbours busted them and called the cops with his rego- bless my lovely neighbours! She also thought he looked familiar and was one of the brickies!!!
on xmas eve we got a letter extending the contract by 19 days due to holidays. in our contract there is already a provision for 19 days so don't know if this is a mix up
emailed our builder when we got that letter- the offices opened back this week and he didn't respond- he's now getting a shoulder operation so won't be back for another week
I rang head office today trying to get some idea of anything. as can't talk to the builder... head office was about as good as a chocolate teapot. I even suggested they put up the temp fencing as an interim measure and they said no and they're basically not interested in any of my problems as all as the contract is between me and the builder.
I am so annoyed as I just want to live in my house. The process has now taken over a year with at least a few more months to go. I am just SO OVER IT and will give them a rubbish review and will be happy to slag them off for as long as I can- they have brought this upon themselves!
So do I give a long, ranting letter to their head office?
Thank you for reading if you got this far!
