Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Megzy M3tricon Home - We are in & we are loving it 461Jul 27, 2009 12:30 pm Thanks everyone. We always wanted to go with the timber flooring. The 21k from Ruddy helped out with this dream. My folks have glossy tiles and they are always having the grout cleaned They seem to be pretty easy to clean so far. Ive only done one vacuum & mop coz of all the traddies still to come through today. We realise that coz of the landscaping still to come we will have alot of dust around the place for the next few months. MM - Yes that is the netball game. McMahon is awesome. I wanted them to win. I only saw a bit of it. Transition moving out of home - ummm tough one. Im trying to stay strong. Dad has a small op today so Im feeling it a bit not being at home with them. I did cry myself to sleep last night. It was weird being there by ourselves. It feels like you are so far away from home. We have got our folks a webcam each so that we when have computer set up at home we can chat to them on the webcam which will be great. Strangest thing is that it is so quiet there. Cant hear any neighbours at all (only 1200m2) but its like we are on an acerage. Kookaburra woke us up this morning which is lovely. Just perfect Re: Megzy M3tricon Home - We are in & we are loving it 462Jul 27, 2009 12:36 pm Oh megzy, don't feel sad and cry yourself to sleep I am feeling sad for you now. How far away are your parents? I remember leaving home (a farm in Victoria) and heading to Melbourne to study when I was 18, and yes it was hard at first but I got used to it, and loved it Webcam a great idea Wow waking up to a kookaburra, now thats what I call paradise. Re: Megzy M3tricon Home - We are in & we are loving it 463Jul 27, 2009 12:50 pm Thanks MM. Its ok I think mainly coz we were exhausted. We are just a really close family. My partner was feeling it too. I think once we have couch in tonight it will look more "homely" and will make a feel a bit better. Folks home is only about 30 mins away so we will prob go home a few times a week to get fed We always knew it was going to be tough. Think it will just take us a few months to get used to it that is all. We still love it tho I think we may need to get a pet sooner rather than later to keep us occupied. We loved the move in so much fun and so many helpers. Im on a weeks holiday this week. YAY! Its been crazy around here. Driveway got poured FINALLY Friday 7 August. A few more days till it gets sealed. We have had a few probs with plumbing all is fixed now. Our beautiful new front door has a few issues - at one section it is all bubbly. They have been out to investigate and fingers crossed we have it fixed soon. About 400m2 of turf has been laid. We have started on the gardens too. ATM we are trying to find a letterbox we both like. Still have no blinds however we are looking to have something up shortly. We purchased a beautiful entertainment unit on the weekend so happy the TV is off the floor. Prob get started on our deck soon. We are yet to get quotes but may end up doing it ourselves. Neally went with a massive dining table with red leather seats. Partner couldnt do it. I think it woulda looked nice. Nevermind. Still got to go get some stools, sitting on the couch atm. Gotta get a computer desk and filing cabinet. Our garage is full of junk we need to go through. And I think that is about it so not much happening at all. Gotta go get updated on everyone elses threads Thanks to all for your lovely comments. Re: Megzy M3tricon Home - We are in & we are loving it 473Aug 11, 2009 8:00 pm Hi megzy, so glad you are enjoying the house and getting stuck into the garden. Lucky thing to have a week off, DH had two off but has been back for a week now. He is so excited he got home tonight and wheelbarrowed a heap of gravel to make some paths until dark. Now that is commitment Hope we can see your driveway soon Re: Megzy M3tricon Home - We are in & we are loving it 474Aug 11, 2009 10:06 pm Yes, please post a photo of the driveway Sounds like you have made great progress so far Blog: http://bluemistkids.blogspot.com "Never be afraid to try something new. Lovely of him to visit. He came wif good news. Our front door is to be replaced yay. We have had some bubbling in the top of the timber door. New one arriving next week and painter will be out to stain it. Really stoked about that. I am so tempted to go visit the local RSPCA to pick up a new kitten. I miss my Tilly heaps. Its just not the same without any pets in the home. Hope you enjoy the photos. From Hallway thru recess to Family Room Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Love these stools! Re: Megzy M3tricon Home - Driveway pics uploaded 480Aug 14, 2009 8:40 am Bar Stools - If I tell you guys I will have to kill you. lol . . . . . . . . . ...Nah believe it or not Super Amart for only $100 each. They are the chocolate ones. MM - Not sure about Chrissy. I cant find her as my friend on facebook either. Im sure she is enjoying her new home as much as we all are. Dont wanna go back to work next week. Going looking for timber blinds today, may look around freedom and bunnings at their western red cedar we cant tell the difference. Dont think we will go with Victory Blinds as each window was gunna cost $700+ and we have 6 at the front so thats the budget gone right there and still have the rest of the house to do.
