Re: Megzy New Home - Settling in Nicely 507Oct 27, 2009 8:54 am Hels Your house is looking great and what a gorgeous little addition to the family. Have you decided on a name for him yet? Thanks Hels. He is a real sook too. Yes finally we have named him Oscar. We are working on landscaping on the weekends bit by bit and I will post photos soon. Good news is that in Brissie overnight we got a fair bit of rain - first time we have rain in our water tank hooray. Cant wait to see the grass nice and green soon. Re: Megzy New Home - Update 8.1.10 508Jan 08, 2010 1:20 pm Well hello everyone. HAPPY NEW YEAR! Cant believe it is nearly 6 months since we moved in. Bugger 6 months maintenance is nearly due went crazy fast. Been so busy, spent a week in lovely Melb for Hockey Championships in Nov had a wonderful time catching up with family who flew down as well. Then our first xmas in our new home with both our families. Had a ball. Exciting news is that our dining suite is only 2 weeks away. We have found one and ordered over 2 months ago. Better be worth it Still got some many more things to do. - find light fittings and replace battens (only 3) - front deck - back deck (quotes for decks were unbelievably expensive so we will DIY) - build in garage (we finally can fit both cars in but all boxes are pushed to the sides) and prob more to do just cant think of it right now. Got some photos to share. Hope you enjoy! These are of our sandstone garden edges (they turned out to be less expensive than concrete edging) Very heavy suckers though couldn't walk for days after. And plants done as well. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Off now to check on everyone else's threads. Can you believe we are almost at the 6 month point, where has the time gone Re: Megzy New Home - Update 8.1.10 511Jan 16, 2010 9:18 pm Hi Megzy, House is looking awesome. A quick question....where did you get the garden edging from? We are a way of needing it but really like the look of sandstone and was surprised to hear you say it was cheaper. Seast - Centenary Landscapes near Sumner Park has them for around $5 each. We found a landscaping place at South Maclean way that only had a few however their other store at Woodridge had them for around $3 each. Think we took most of the good ones. New stock will be around $5 each. We are pretty happy with them. Alot of hard work though. Re: Megzy New Home - Update 8.1.10 513Jan 18, 2010 8:52 am Megzy, Love you house in particular your front yard. I must admitt I have not read your entire thread so I am sorry if you have already stated this. Did you do you retaining wall yourself or have the professionals do it? Roughly how much did it cost if you know, as I want to do the same. Would love to have a flat grassed area to mow, and sit. _____________________________________________________________ Building a Masterton Villina - Contemporary http://mynottsbuildavillina.blogspot.com/ Re: Megzy New Home - Update 8.1.10 514Jan 18, 2010 9:14 am Thanks dmynott. Sorry cant help you with the retaining walls. We got it easy - the developer had already done them therefore our land included the retaining walls - estimate around 25K when we compared prices of non retained blocks to ours. Good luck in finding a supplier. We did our research with the sandstone garden edges and in the end saved some $$$$.
