However ( ), a tiny further Q ...
So, 20mm Blue or also known as Drainage Gravel - that's the so-called 20mm Blue Metal? Where did you buy it? I find that there are so many "variants" of possibly the same thing that I am getting confused very much with this gravel thingy.
Does your gravel have any fine particles / dust in it, or is it only pieces of rock? Does your gravel compact too much, or is it quite free draining?
Thanks
Hi Lex,
Yes 20mm Blue Metal. (Sorry I just call it 20 mm Blue given I have shoveled close on 15 tonne of the stuff )
I sourced mine from a local landscape supplier just up the road from me.
If in doubt goto a supplier near your place and check the stuff out before you order some.
No fine particles / sand / dust in it at all, just pieces of rock, all blue in colour and about the same size.
The gravel does not need compacting once you place it behind your wall. Shovel it in and that's it - job done. Any water will drain down thru the gravel to your Ag Pipe and be transported away.
Hope this info helps.
