I also complete the 1st of 3 steps in the foundation at the back. I'll take some pics tomorrow when the light is better. I think even a professional landscaper would be impressed. I can see myself doing some landscaping when my place is eventually done, but doubt I will get quite as good a finish as you. I will have to look back through your thread to see if you mentioned where you bought the blocks from. Cheers Re: Built an EB Memphis28Mk3**Retaining Wall. If I were a landscaper though I would be out of business by now for taking such a long time on one job The blocks are called Tasman Blocks. I bought them from a place at Blacktown http://www.masonryandslate.com.au These blocks are stocked by most landscaping places so it pays to shop around to get the best price. After what seems like an eternity I have finally got some progress on fixing an issue, the entry ceiling. After we moved in I noticed that there was something no quite right about the ceiling in the entry. It wasn't level. I had a carpenter arrive today and has prepped the job for the plasterers. Before the fix. Note the increasing gap left to right on each piece of roof frame. You can also see the remains of the Corince plaster line is not level either. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ And the fix ready for plaster. Turns out the entire entry ceiling was out of whack. It was high at both ends and had a 25mm slope right to left across the width of the entry. Were there any issues like them not wanting to fix it since you didn't notice it before the PCI?? My signature is distracting people from my wise posts ... Re: Built an EB Memphis28Mk3**Not Quite Level. 629Jul 05, 2010 1:06 pm Hi Lex, Yep this was noted as an issue in my 3 month maintenance inspection. They are just getting around to fixing it now. The Gyprockers are here now which is good as I was not looking forward to having the ceiling open over night. Re: Built an EB Memphis28Mk3**Retaining Wall. Re: Built an EB Memphis28Mk3**I'm a bit backed up!!!! 636Aug 02, 2010 4:49 pm I noticed this morning that when I flushed the toilet, the bowl filled quiet high with water and then took a long time to emtpy then I heard a gurgling noise from the pipework. Went to the other toilet and the same thing. Filled the sink in the Laundry and it too took a long time to drain. Great I've got a blocked drain! Tried the plunger hoping to get out of it cheap but to no avail. Call a Plumber and he went straight to the inpsection pot in the back yard. He opened it, saw that the vertical pipe off the main line was half full of water and said straight away. "This is a Water Board problem" Phew!! at least I don't have a problem on my side of the line. The Water Board are being contacted right now to come out at clear the line. Re: Built an EB Memphis28Mk3**Retaining wall, progress pics 637Dec 23, 2010 8:42 am KnockItDown My drawings I got from EB were not that accurate. They took an existing site drawing and drew in pen where the pipes were laid. No measurements or depths indicated. I hit this pipe during the dig for my retaining wall foundations but luckily I did not crack it. Exactly the same here! The "plans" are just an approximation of where the pipes are! Turns out too that the pipes are quite shallow, so we also "found" (=hit with mattock ) the tank overflow pipe by accident. And had that burst ... Re: Built an EB Memphis28Mk3**I'm a bit backed up!!!! 639May 04, 2011 10:05 pm Lex Hi KID, What do you call the gravel that you used in this pic please: A: 20mm Blue or also known as Drainage Gravel. http://i459.photobucket.com/albums/qq311/EB_Photos_2009/RetainingWallProgress005a.jpg And what's the black plastic for? A: It's not plastic. It's Geo Filter Fabric. You can get it from Bunnings in 25m or 50m rolls. Thnaks Re: Built an EB Memphis28Mk3 640May 05, 2011 8:53 am Thanks, Leo However ( ), a tiny further Q ... So, 20mm Blue or also known as Drainage Gravel - that's the so-called 20mm Blue Metal? Where did you buy it? I find that there are so many "variants" of possibly the same thing that I am getting confused very much with this gravel thingy. Does your gravel have any fine particles / dust in it, or is it only pieces of rock? Does your gravel compact too much, or is it quite free draining?
