Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 20, 2009 2:56 pm Hi. We are just making estimate for allowances on our loan and one of them is for fences. May I ask what is the reasonable cost for a timber paling fence per meter today? I got a qoute for about $45 and another one for $70 including labor. Not sure why there is a big discrepancy. Ours is about 86 meters in total because it is a corner lot. Thanks. Re: fencing cost estimate 2Jan 20, 2009 3:39 pm I had a quote for Colorbond fencing @ $65 per meter, and then this is halved with the neighbours. Dont know if that helps but you would expect a treated pine fence to be cheaper than colorbond.
mmm Then again there is probably more labour involed in a timber fence............ looks like i'm just as cluless as you! Re: fencing cost estimate 3Jan 20, 2009 4:06 pm We have been quoted $56 a linear metre for 1800mm lapped and capped treated pine which is a requirement for our estate.
If we did not require capping it would have been $45 a metre. Also, $45 for wood delivery and $45 for the first post.
