(2009) https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=17354 Re: Which plan to choose? 22Jan 18, 2009 10:02 am plan 2 without even worrying. Plan one doesn't do it for me at all. Not really a family home. Gotta love a house where you can close off areas plus I prefer the kitchen in plan 2. Get a door for the study though and make sure there is a door closing off the hallway going down to the kids rooms. Re: Which plan to choose? 23Jan 18, 2009 10:22 am JellyLegs I agree - I like the second one as a family home. Love the kids play area. Not sure if it would work (or how) but I'd try and swap the bathroom and bed 2 so you can close off the 'kids end' of the house so visitors don't have to see their mess...I mean toys and fun stuff ( )...everywhere. I DEFINITELY wouldn't do this. It means the bathroom would be a fair way from beds 3 and 4 (not great for littlies) and that visitors have to walk past bedroom 2 to get to the toilet and the bed 2 would have to be considerably smaeller to allow for the passage. Wouldn't use the full width. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Which plan to choose? 24Jan 18, 2009 11:38 am I'd still go plan 2 but consider rearranging the bathroom layout. I've moved the doorway closer to bedroom2.
Rearranged the toilet and bathroom. Here's 2 alternative layouts for the bathroom fixtures. In the 2nd one I've made the cabinet much smaller. It's great to have the toilet closer to the kids bedrooms for their sakes. BUT if it's also your visitors toilet do you want it close to the kids bedrooms? This is similar to what we've done in the layout of our house but we have only 2 kids and no intentions of having any more. Our equiv bed 2 is a guest room so the kids are in the other 2 bedrooms near the activity room below: the first is our bathroom layout in the new house and the 2nd the original layout. It's quite nice but I wanted a larger main bathroom area so we simplified it. a shame to lose the additional linen bit in the process and the powder room look of it. No 2 is my pick also! We have actually designed our own plans from scratch and it is remarkably similar to number 2...we have made a few changes to overcome the issue of peope having to walk through the rumpus to use the WC as this defeats the whole purpose...see our plan below - we have changed it to swap the rumpus with Bed 4, this might give you some ideas... I dislike garages opening directly into the entry, so having that small area tucked behind the garage gets it out of sight.
It's also right next to the laundry, which is handy for cleaning up greasy hands or disposing of mucky clothes, without traipsing through the house. Black on light wood does look good. Not sure if it will be as long lasting as a steel finish? 6 6355 brokers will also be in a position to get you a better rate than the advertised rate most times. 6 7586 Thank you. Do I use timber floorboards for stairs or do people use timber treads? Or is both the same? 6 7306 |
