Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 13, 2009 10:10 am Hi everyone!
I'm a newbie here as you can see, but i've been following the forum for a little while. Building 'Hilton 240' with National Builders, we have a tap, and that's about all. They are on holidays due to come back next week, so hopefully will be on site very soon after! We changed the plans heavily and with so many upgrades, this process has taken a very long time... Bought the land in october 2007, the title was delayed and we could not get our soil test completed until june 2008! after going from porter davis to dennis family, to porter davis, to national builders, we are ready to go finally. all our approvals have gone through (developer and council) and the materials have been ordered. We can't wait for the slab to go down and we can't start. Very exciting for us as me and my boyfriend still live at home! Re: inspection went well :o) 5Jan 19, 2009 11:09 am Great News Cookies.
I hope that your build fares well. We will hopefully start within the next two weeks. Very exciting Ryan Building Vancouver 33 - My Thread https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=89689 Re: inspection went well :o) 8Jan 20, 2009 1:31 pm Awesome floor plan Cookies.

i have a question... the time for completion days that the builder allows in your contract, when does that start from? mine says 205 days including so and so days for weekends and rain days etc. but i can't seem to find when this timeline starts from. is it from signing of the contract, approvals, site start, or something else??? Building first home in Melbourne - Hilton NBG 24E (changed dramatically) inspection done... just waiting now for finalization!!!!!!! We were told the moment they start on site, so site cut (which is site start) is day one! Re: inspection went well :o) 12Jan 22, 2009 11:09 am does this mean even if they only cut part of the site? Our excavator guy got bogged in the mud, so he left and waited until after Christmas.

Our excavator guy got bogged in the mud, so he left and waited until after Christmas. -Sha We were told that minute someone goes on 'site' that is day one, mmm not sure with that example, maybe best to ask your builder! My understanding is in a situation like that they should send you a letter to 'extend' the contract, if its needed, because its 'started' something has happened to delay them been able to continue. l know ours was 220 days made up of the standard wet days public holidays weekend etc, but we got a few letters through-out saying letter to extend contract by 5 days due to eg supplier delay etc! But for us didn't come close to 220 days so it wasn't so much of a worry! Re: inspection went well :o) 15Jan 29, 2009 8:36 am hello hello!
well our block has been scraped and cut, and now we have pipes! been told that we'll have a slab by the end of the week... which would mean tomorrow... but i doubt it with this scorching weather in melbourne! Your 'soak well' only holds 424 litres when full. What is your soil type? Soak wells need sandy soils. 10 8978 Finally got the Soakwell at my house sucked out.
