Browse Forums Building A New House Re: We have plaster!!!! 61Apr 02, 2009 8:16 pm Awesome cookies! I thought for a second that there was a big bend in the corner there until I realised that there were plasterboards leaning up against the wall! How does the house feel? Small? Big? Congrats mate? Is the whole house done? Building Vancouver 33 - My Thread https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=89689 Re: We have plaster!!!! 62Apr 03, 2009 8:19 am Thanks Ryan the whole house is plastered, just needs all the smoothing up and cornices etc now and the ceilings. there are plasterboards leaning against the walls in every room, apparently these are for the ceilings. it's funny how the house feels, it looks absolutely amazing, but the master bedroom feels smaller now and the theatre room, but the rest of the house feels absolutely massive.. yay it's exciting that finally we have some more progress.. i wonder how long it'll take!? sorry to hear about your place Ryan, here's hoping for a good week next week... Re: plaster is taking for-EVER! 69Apr 20, 2009 1:36 pm hellooo haven't taken any photos, sorry! but all our cornices are up, and we have holes cut out of the plaster for the power points. my BF has noticed other things that i didn't pick up on, like downpipes out the back, and apparently they filled in the shower bases. we have picked up on a mistake with the plan.. we have a bulkhead in the entry way, and the plaster did what was on the plan which includes cornices under the bulkhead (which i think is weird anyway).. but they haven't thought about the fact that we upgraded to high doors, and there is a door from the garage into the entry way.. so once they put the archetraves on this door, well there's going to be a problem, it won't fit. we have a meeting with our SS on wednesday anyway, so will bring this up. fingers crossed for the architrave's and kitchen this week! Ryan Building Vancouver 33 - My Thread https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=89689 Re: we have KITCHEN!!!! locked out! photos! 74Apr 29, 2009 10:10 am been a little bit of drama lately... first of all they put cornices up under the bulkhead, which was on the plan, so its not their fault, its the person that did the plan and noone realized the problem until now.. we have high doors, and so now the skirting won't fit around the doors where the bulk head is.. so the solution is to simply pull down the cornices, but they are really taking their time with it. i assume because the plasterer is saying it was on the plan and so they want to be paid extra or something like that. second, our builder told us there would be a 3 week delay, because of the silestone benchtop. but didn't say why. when we got home there was a letter from NBG saying it isn't made anymore and a sample of a replacement (i can't even tell the difference, looks the same to me). we called the builder to say just get the replacement.. but we don't know if there will still be a delay.. don't think so.. third, the builder said there was a 4 week delay on the laundry trough.. so we swapped it with another one. don't really care about the trough, just put one in and hurry up lol. I am nervous that we too will get a letter from NBG as you are the 2nd I have read that has had to make an alternative choice. We have gone with Blanco City. Hi MM, the benchtop that we originally chose was the 'Blanco Maple'. Don't have the name of the replacement with me sorry. Hopefully this won't happen to you as well.
