Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Anyone heard of PLACES HOMES LAND LIFE builder??? 42Feb 27, 2010 5:50 pm can i ask why melpaul? we have had a few issues with our admin that have left us a little disappointed and are only at slab stage but would be interested to hear your story. Re: Anyone heard of PLACES HOMES LAND LIFE builder??? 44Mar 16, 2010 7:27 am im about to start building a deacon 28 also. would really appreciate your feedback on Places to date they have been pretty good. there were alot of minor mistakes made during the contract stage but everything seems to be going pretty smoothly now cheers Re: Anyone heard of PLACES HOMES LAND LIFE builder??? 45Mar 16, 2010 3:39 pm we are at slab stage and so far dont think too poorly of places, the big downfall for us has been our administration, we were pretty disappionted in her performance and then she told us she was being redeployed elsewhere in the company and we were assigned a new admin. this was right as we began construction i,ve only heard from her once about 3 weeks ago and we still havent heard from our ss yet. other than that we are quite happy with everything else. Re: Anyone heard of PLACES HOMES LAND LIFE builder??? 46Mar 25, 2010 11:05 pm Just about to get the keys to my place within the next week. Mostly pretty good. A few hiccups along the way, but nothing too monstrous. Moving in to my Deacon 23, which looks bloody fantastic. Really glad I got in before the price hike. Staff mostly okay, but be prepared to possibly get very little in the way of communication between SS, HC and yourselves. I got one call from my first SS. Last one has been much more organised for the most part. Re: Anyone heard of PLACES HOMES LAND LIFE builder??? 47Mar 26, 2010 6:52 am We're reasonably happy so far, we're waiting on our land before the actual building commences. Had a few 'hiccups' along the tender/contract path but the important thing was we got them sorted. Even admin's and estimators are human (really they are ), and with such a huge workload most were under with the rush to sign up before FHOG values dropped well mistakes were bound to happen. But that's when due diligence on the part of the purchaser comes into play its your money, so you need to make damn sure what its going towards is exactly what you wanted and agreed upon. Up to look up and fix by 23 Nov then nothing except my wood floor was layed on 22 dec before the painter electrician and other trades so yes i have scratches on floor was astonished that this was layed then SS finished or sacked not sure in Feb got a new SS had to keep phoning to get house moving wish i kept a record of it all now as there were more things that went wrong but cant remember as put them to the back of my mind probably trying to forget as it was a very stressful time again Finlay got handover on 5 march only another few days and they would have run over time. Was promised in hand over that coving would be painted that day and as part of the coving had bubbled. wood windows would be fixed as beading was splintered around 2 window and winders not tight. cooker not fitted tilting forward as fitted on plinth not legs when touch to dangerous to use even though it was chained to wall if you put liquids on it would tilt forward Finlay fixed last Thurs heating not working at first but working now after 2 weeks wait. still waiting for my coving to be painted and my windows to have beading replaced and re vanished dint now if we will have to wait until 3 month maintenance for this but was promised it would get done before. Also wrong handles on doors and wrong color grout on bath tiles these are things we have put up with Re: Anyone heard of PLACES HOMES LAND LIFE builder??? 49Apr 06, 2010 8:22 pm Yep. Built with them. Really happy with the process. Couple of hitches with customer service - nothing major.Great inclusions in the Bonus - make sure you ge it explained and make sure you select it. Site cost was $15K CHEAPER than other quote from other builder. See JD ( Consultant ) he saved us time and money - completely straight up - really helpful. WE LOVE our house and have had heaps of compliments from friends, neighbors and family Re: Anyone heard of PLACES HOMES LAND LIFE builder??? 50Apr 11, 2010 10:34 am I finsihed building a deacon 28 with places around 6 months ago. It cost me about $240K, High cielings and 10x5M alfresco at rear of house with bi fold door. Base price was $184, But extras add up very quickly. There were no real problems during construction. When my land titled, The building started two weeks later. (Built in Heritage springs pakenham The house took around 22 weeks to finish. We Had two supvisers, Gary and Brian. Gary was very bad, He quit and We got brian two weeks before house finished. Lucky we got brian beacause he fixed so many things wroung with the house, gary wanted us to accept them as normal. EG along all the skirting boards and window frames you can see nail head bumps. Brian got a team of painters and spent 6 hours sanding and repaiting them. There were a long list of problems, But it is now nealry all done now,Our maintence guy is very good. You just have to have a but of paintence that things will be fixed and call them now and again Re: Anyone heard of PLACES HOMES LAND LIFE builder??? 51Apr 12, 2010 3:59 pm Yeah to be honest they seem like a good company. but our customer service has been pretty terrible (although it is improving). we haven't built with them yet so i wouldn't know in terms of what they are like during build. All in all i am happy with them so far, and i think their sales manager is an awesome bloke. i should also state that i think they have some of the best package deals going around too. You just have to have a but of paintence that things will be fixed and call them now and again hi im also on heritage springs but i was not happy with brian i do feel like iv been patient its been 10 months now from my deposit and still not finished properly moved in 1 month ago my base price was 179 but i also had the high celings ,bifolding door , alfresco which i dont have key for. How much longer would you say i will need to wait to get things completed our build was 27 weeks and still not happy but then if things were finished off properly then i would be happy as i do like the deacon and the things that have been finished are fine why do they leave us with a list that needs to be finished off i thought things would have been finished off to move into not have to wait as it takes forever to get them back once your in Re: Anyone heard of PLACES HOMES LAND LIFE builder??? 53Apr 15, 2010 3:52 pm Hi there so far so good I have been built in truganina VIc David is my SS if i get any process i will let u know. thanx http://myplacescallhomesglendale23.blogspot.com/ Re: Anyone heard of PLACES HOMES LAND LIFE builder??? 54Apr 20, 2010 2:39 pm Pete E2W Hi there so far so good I have been built in truganina VIc David is my SS if i get any process i will let u know. thanx http://myplacescallhomesglendale23.blogspot.com/ Hi Pete E2W i'll be following your blog!! thanks for posting it. we are building exactly the same home so i will be interested on how it goes for you. did you get the extra 2 squares bonus by any chance? Re: Anyone heard of PLACES HOMES LAND LIFE builder??? 59May 05, 2010 9:44 pm Ive just started building the Deacon 28 in The Avenue At Casey. slab went down this morning. must agree. the admin side of things has been a bit sloppy. had a look at the slab today, looks like they have done a good job (fingers crossed). so hopefully by next friday i'll see parts of the frame going up cheers Steve Re: Anyone heard of PLACES HOMES LAND LIFE builder??? 60May 12, 2010 10:46 am Has anyone built the deacon 28 WITH the extra 2sq? I am doing this at the moment, unfortunately the window in the lounge room is slightly off-center because the length of the room was extended. SS will be looking at it tomorrow, but it's off centre on the plan as well. I think the drafti forgot to centre the window when he redid the plans with the extra 2sq. Do you think this is something they should fix? Or are they entitled to say..."Well on the plan, the window is not centre, you should have picked it up..sorry". " All other windows in the house are centered. The lounge window is also center in the 28 sq version. Help! Doosa You should pressure clean your roof first and make sure the paint you buy also is anti mould. 4 18563 Sounds like rubbish to me. Ask for the contamination report which I doubt they have. If it's part of a normal subdivision it would have had a contamination report done… 9 5645 |
