You MUST get all the noggins in for everything before any wires (or pipes) get run. Murphys law dictates that the wires will be at exactly the location where you need to put that block of timber and is a real pain in the gluteus maximus to fix! Far easier for the electrician and plumber to drill through blocks than for the chippie to cut around bloody wires and pipes and this also adds significantly to the risk of damage to those services. Take it from bitter experience, it is no fun ripping off wall sheets to find a cut or crimped wire or pipe that has prevented half the house coming live when you are under pressure to complete! So: Noggins and blocks (roof and walls) Plumbing Electrical Insulation As the wiring is a bit more flexible than the plumbing, do the plumbing rough in before the electrical if at all possible but don't insulate until your plumber has pressured up the system AND tested it for leaks!! Builders are people too.... Re: What's the installation sequence? 6Jan 11, 2009 8:31 pm Noggins, Electrical, Insulation..
But make sure the sparky knows you're putting in insulation.. He must derate the cable appropriatly Electrical Engineer... Don't hold that against me... And keen owner builder... Mainly the building part!! Re: What's the installation sequence? 7Jan 11, 2009 9:44 pm Can you please explain what you mean about the derate the cable
Call me naive but Ive never heard of this before Built a modified "Daydream 279" .. Cor@l Homes on a flat 4473m block!! And lov'n it!!! Re: What's the installation sequence? 8Jan 11, 2009 10:02 pm Being that the cable will be compleetly surrounded by thermal insulation, it's maximum capacity is reduced (derated)... Electrical Engineer... Don't hold that against me... And keen owner builder... Mainly the building part!! Hi Marko The best thing to do is to have a look at your contract and see how the variation clause is worded. We use the NSW Fair trading contract and the way that is… 1 5067 I need to replace the worn mohair seal on my sliding window, but I can't get access to the end to slide the old one out & push the new one in. I could probably rip the old… 0 3485 Thanks Simon, I guess I'm no concerned with the volume of the noise rather that dead and hollow sound and feel that is associated with floating floors. But I'm not sure… 3 4584 |
