Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Our WA Treechange - We have the keys!!! 61May 28, 2009 9:11 pm Congratulations on moving in monkeyupatree! Must be very exciting. Have you posted any new photos? We are only sealing the walls at this stage. I have no idea what colours we will paint, so we'll just live with it and see what we think. I can't make any more decisions at the moment! We still have some things that have to be fixed from the PCI, mainly paint touch ups and a scratched garage door. I am giving them a week or so to contact us and then I will start emailing! How did you go about organising phone connection? Probobly something I should do soon. I'll take some photos this weekend. Can I ask what is/was wrong with the shower screen door and ceiling? When I organised it I didn't say we weren't moving in straight away ( didn't think about it). Now you have me worried I will ring tomorow and find out. Sonya Re: Our WA Treechange - We have the keys!!! 65May 28, 2009 11:31 pm hmm maybe you shouldn't ring as a customer but more a "potential customer". Just in case. We will be covered for storm/fire etc just not anything being stolen or damaged by persons unknown. Sonya We rang up Telstra for the phone connection as we have a package, for 12 months, through them and the estate. Even so it still took them a good 3 weeks before anyone was able to come out and connect it, and then another 2 weeks after that to send out a CD for the internet. We rang before we even moved in, as soon as we got the keys in fact, to get a date for it to be done. We were also given a choice for our phone number, so easy yet I still forget it. No new photos as yet. Should update my blog for my Victorian rellies. dragon monkeyupatree - if I remember correctly, you are building with Ultimate? Can I ask what is/was wrong with the shower screen door and ceiling? Yep built with Ultimate.... shower screen was scratched, but the shower people keep making appointments and then not show up. We get an excuse that "theres no-one in the area to install it. You should have got a phone call....sorry 'bout that!" With the ceiling you can see the join lines in nearly every room and nail 'bumps' in the family area, it stands out like the proverbial! I dont think they sanded it too well in the first place, and then tried to fix it. Re: Our WA Treechange - We have the keys!!! 67Jun 06, 2009 12:06 am We have been busy at the house in any spare time we have had! The walls are mostly sealed, only the bathrooms and toilets to go. The aircon went in during the week. The wood flooring is acclimatising ( 1 week to go) and we have organised the phone connection, antenna and driveway to be done next week. Have had some quotes for blinds, we just have to decide what material and colour for the romans. Also we will have to organise some sort of gutter guard as we have a major leaf problem. I have attached some photos. Hyper, the kitchen benchtops are laminex freestyle, risotto, and the cupboards are polar white. The bathrooms are formica wenge. We haven't painted the internal walls yet, they are just sealed. Outside gutters fascia and roof are woodland grey. I will definately post some pics of the floors in a few weeks, hopefully there will be no dramas! Sonya Re: Our WA Treechange - We have the keys!!! lots of photos 78Jun 12, 2009 11:15 pm we've had a busy week at the house! The flooring guys started on Tuesday. They sealed the concrete and then left it until Thursday, when they started to lay the wood. They have done so much! There is about 4 of them working together. They have the kitchen and home theatre to do ( which they said they will finish on Monday ) and then they will start sanding and sealing on Thursday. It looks really good, just what we were hoping for. It will change colour once it is sanded and sealed. We have also had an earthworker in to do the driveway and move some big rocks at the back of the house. We are just having a gravel drive for now. I think he will finish next week some time. In the photo he has just leveled the drive. I think we should be able to move in around the 26 June Sonya Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Our WA Treechange - Floorboards going in! 79Jun 16, 2009 2:29 am Floors look great, such a nice colour.
