Hi there
Haven't posted much (lurked and read heaps and learned so much) so thought it was time I got on board and put up some pictures of our house in progress.
We are living 5 streets away from our new house in a tiny 2 x1 investment property (with a 3 yo, 20 month old, and #3 due in 3 weeks), and it is fair to say I drive past our house being built at least once a day to check on the progress, and remind myself that there is some light at the end of the tunnel! Current house size 55sqm with a 40 sqm back verandah - new house size is 410 sqm all up. Definitely moving on up!!
We are building a 2 storey house which is based on the Val3ncia design by B3aumond3, a smallish WA builder. So far things have been cranking along, and we are expecting to be in by the middle of the year. Building times seem to have come down in WA from 18 month builds for similar houses to ours, to 10-14 months - which is great for us.
The painter was there today doing the first coat of the top storey render. It's Vitesse by Solver, roof is Colorbond Ironstone, fascia is Colorbond Dune.
Here are some photos from earlier on in the build ...
Standing on the first floor slab looking back towards our backyard (east facing):
Pouring the top floor slab (This was at around 7 in the morning on a miserable grey day in Perth, walked there with the kids in the pram to watch the proceedings):
Looking out towards the front door - facing west. To the right is the door to the study, to the left the door to the "theatre" aka kids room
In the process of finalising light fitting choices and getting quotes for floor coverings - idea is that this is all done before #3 arrives on the scene! Probably wishful thinking
