Would love to see some pics! Built Liberty 42 - Handover 26th Feb 2010 forum thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=17243 Re: Crissy's perfect home is OURS !! Handover has happened! :) 784Sep 26, 2009 3:00 pm Hey everyone ! I am soooo sorry for not posting pics sooner - life has been so very busy with the move, then parents moving in, our birthdays, my best friend losing his father, work, and then of course everything we have done to the house on our own like the fences, letter box, clothesline, curtains, getting the concreting all done etc etc - you know how it all is !!! So..... we are having our house warming party tonight, so thought I would just quickly take a few pics now that I have the camera and a few mins to do it ! They haven't all turned out that well with the lighting, but at least you will get a bit of an idea ! Plus we have not long had the front landscaping finished, so at least you will see it pretty much completed from the front (just need to get the garden lights installed and some curtains for the 2 front bedrooms) We still have a bit to do inside - more curtains, unpacking, and yet to change all the batton lights - but we will get there, its just taking time ! We've also just had the security screens done to our master bedroom sliding door, rumpus sliding door & dining room door, oh, and laundry. Its so nice to finally be able to get a bit of a breeze ! Its all going well living here - LOVING having no neighbours.... next door (the nice people) have just had their site cut, so they won't be far off. I could get used to not having neighbours !! Might have to sell up and move & build again on Acreage ! lol One day ! But its all good, loving the house - only issue is - I dont have enough bench space Will have to look at extending it (width is the only way I could go...) but we'll get there. Still have photos to put up - it feels weird not having our photos up, but again, all in good time. No pics of the granny flat - dad is getting ready for the grand final, so god forbid I interrupt !! LOL Its amazing how different the house felt once the landscaping was done - its starting to now feel like a home ! Can't wait for our friends to finally see it tonight, so i think the excitement will come back ! Thanks Rowena, yes we are happy, very happy with my colour selections - it has all come together really nicely ! We have 2 putty tats - 1 settled in fine, the other took a few days (he had a rough kittenhood until we saved him) and mainly hid in the hallway the first few days, but now all they do is play together ! They are having a ball !!! I'm like you Paula, not much to say & haven't had time to look at everyone's threads ! But will try when things settle down !! I did have a quick sticky beak a while ago at a few of yours, but I think now thta we are all in, there is not much to say and now too busy !! Pics Finally ! 791Sep 28, 2009 12:17 pm Yay for puppies! Ive been really lazy with pics. I will take some this week - we finally have a letterbox woo hoo. We have so much still to do. Starting with crimsafe this week - fingers crossed we can start opening up some doors soon . Got our friends wedding on the gold coast this weekend. After that we have a whole heaps of mulch and rocks arriving. Yay bring on the tough work. Dirt moving was easy as compared to what is still to come. Re: Crissy's perfect home - In & Loving It ! Congrats John, Tarin and the Kids Built and moving in to the Regent Grande with Masterton homes http://thebrownsaremovingtothecountry.blogspot.com Re: Crissy's perfect home - In & Loving It ! Pics Finally ! 793Sep 29, 2009 7:52 am Hi Crissy, I haven't been logged on at this time in the morning for a long time so was funny to see your name also logged on, just like old times Thanks for your kind words about the house. I still want to decorate some more and we haven't started out the back apart from getting the foundation done for the shed. DH has got grand plans and I trust him fully after seeing his efforts on the front. We have had some visitors see the house for the first time over our school holidays and they are all loving it and commenting on the our colour choices so we must have done something right How was your house warming party by the way? Re: Crissy's perfect home - In & Loving It ! Pics Finally ! 794Sep 29, 2009 10:17 pm Oh hi Crissy, welcome back to H1 Your house is just gorgeous, congratulations! Everything looks so fantastic. I hope your house warming went well. Re: Crissy's perfect home - In & Loving It ! Pics Finally ! 795Sep 29, 2009 10:58 pm Oh i've just fallen in love!! With your front door and your letterbox!! Everything really looks great viewtopic.php?f=31&t=22766 - my build thread! Time waits for no man. Unless that man is Chuck Norris. Re: Crissy's perfect home - In & Loving It ! Pics Finally ! 796Oct 01, 2009 11:19 am Awww thanks guys for all your lovely comments ! Its still very welcoming to hear people's opinions on our home ! Megzy - saw some of your pics on fb - your yard is massive ! how much land are you on again ? Have fun at the wedding !!!! Thanks John & Tarin, Bek & Jodie ! I love the letterbox too, and thinks it looks so awesome against the front door and garage door (which was open at the time of the photo - so might have to take another one!) Paula - yes, its not very often I've been able to get back on here! It all takes time doesnt it (and lots and lots of money!!!), but we will all get there slowly. Our next project is doing up the side of the house with blocks (its just dirt there now - on the neighbours side where he is a little bit higher). Then of course our lighting is very important too. You know, we had the fences put up the week after we moved in, and after many calls & chasing the neighbour (the one who back in the day threatened to sue us, the one who has his block for sale) has still not paid us, and its now over 2 months and still no money..... we are thinking of sending him a letter telling him he has 14 days to pay. I even offered the last time we spoke for him to pay us in installments. But still not one cent !!! What have you guys all done or what would you do if you were in our situation ?? Pics Finally ! 797Oct 01, 2009 1:59 pm Crissy, we had trouble chasing our back neighbours and were even prepared to pay for their half just to get the fence up and some privacy. We knew the owners were selling the block and it just so happened (luckily for us) as soon as the fence went up the new owners went into the fencing place and paid their half without any fuss so we were very lucky. In your case is it worth getting a solicitor involved? How much is their share worth? Keep at them, some people are sly Re: Crissy's perfect home - In & Loving It ! Pics Finally ! 798Oct 02, 2009 8:11 am well we had to do it straight away because we have a dog, as well as wanting privacy too of course. His share is $1500. We gave him the option of finding a cheaper quote, cos he thought it was expensive, so we then gave him the option of finding a cheaper quote.. funny thing is though, he came back to us thinking that $1500 was a good price (no surprise there sherlock!) and to go ahead with it. He's given us excuse after excuse, and yes, I understand times are hard and he is not in a good place financially, but I'm sorry - he shouldn't have bought the land if he can't afford it. It was an impulse buy because he fell in love with the block - but didn't think it through. Our last conversation 3 weeks ago, I called him chasing payment again, and I even offered for him to pay in installments if that made it easier for him, but still to this day - nothing. No money, no call. He was hoping to sell the land as he thought he had someone interested, and would pay from the settlement money - i said to him to keep in touch & keep us updated cos we need the money. Pics Finally ! 799Oct 02, 2009 9:01 am Hi Chrissy I thought that the fence company did all the chasing of payment from all sides of the fence. We will be doing our fence in the next few months and we have 5 neighbours!! I was hoping not to have to pay it all and then have to chase people. You guys must be so , I hope you get your money soon then . By the way love your house and love the letter box. Did you guys buy the letter box or make it?
