Happy New Year to all.
I drove past my block a few days ago and noticed that my front tap is in and working!!! I am so very excited as this means hopefully it is not too much longer before work begins on the house.
Cheers,
Tillie

I remember when we first saw our tap, which actually wasn't all that long ago We were SO excited, and I took at least 5 photos of it LOL! I then said to DH "It doesn't have a top turny thing on it, I wonder if it still (turns top part while saying this) wor......" BLAM! The water came out with a great blast because of the air in the pipes, and promptly splattered my feet
Does your tap meter also say 999999 like ours does? It's exciting once something starts happening. Re: I have a front tap!!! 5Jan 02, 2009 9:02 pm we found a tap at our block a few weeks ago.. certainly had plenty of pressure!! Re: I have a front tap!!! 7Jan 02, 2009 9:13 pm I hope you don't mind, but I'll share with you a couple of the pics I took as well
This one is me showing that our tap works after it made me jump a mile when it first blasted in to life. When I showed those pics to my family, I got the feeling they thought I was odd for getting all excited about a tap and taking pics of it I'm glad there are others who know the excitement! Re: I have a front tap!!! 12Jan 02, 2009 9:27 pm I totally understand what you mean, as when I got to the block I only had the camera phone so just about everyone got a pic of the tap and then with water coming out
Look out once the slab gets started and the reat of the process as they shall be bombarded with many pics Re: I have a front tap!!! 13Jan 02, 2009 10:21 pm Taps are pretty good but for real excitement you need a port-a-loo!!!

LOL yes! We took many pics of our one, I admit Well the outside part of it anyway, with the builder's details. I haven't actually looked inside our one lol! Re: I have a front tap!!! 16Jan 03, 2009 10:27 am Hi Tillie, congratulations!
We got water just before Christmas, although I have already used it to give our dogs a drink so I don't have a perfect record anymore! I haven't taken a photo yet, but mine had witches hats (those red cone pointy things that the council uses on road works?) all around it! I was so excited! Our builder is back at work the 12 January so I am hoping work starts soon after!!! Goodluck with your build - we will probably start around the same time! I know it doesn't magically appear... I assume the water authority would put it there.. does the builder tell them to put it there? As ours was put there before settlement! Our local council did ours up here in Queensland - not sure about your area though. Neighbours told us that an Ipswich City Council truck was at our block all morning and then hey presto we had a water connection. 2 days later our plans arrived in the mail approved. Up here connecting water to the block is the last step before you receive official notification of your approved plans.
