Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Need help... which HSTP is the best on the market... 22Dec 21, 2010 9:28 am Okay, we have to make this decision as well. I am looking for updated comments for the best HSTP around at the moment. We are in Logan council, Queensland. Each website says theirs is the best - who to believe....... I am hoping for one that is economical to run, minimal/no noise, little maintenance and probably underground irrigation. Can suggestions? Re: Need help... which HSTP is the best on the market... 23Dec 21, 2010 11:09 am Hi junglebellsj, There is a lot of mis-information in the industry about the pros and cons of the different systems. Every supplier will tell you why their system is the best, but ask yourself what is it they are not telling you about. Then ask them why the other brand you're considering is no good. If you hear the same disaster story from two or three different sources, then that is something to take note of. I chose an AquaNova system - dual tanks, concrete, standard grade (not the advanced model). The things that swayed me in the end were cost, reliability, a large established history of installations and the fact that a few builders I spoke to also use AquaNova. They hear a lot of stories. My system is installed and everything has been ok, touch wood. Council rules play a big part too. My site is next to a waterway. BCC standard regulations normally require a 30m exclusion zone on both sides of the waterway, which is just crazy. However there are other approaches available - a) if you get an advanced treatment system you can go within 10m, or b) depending on your site, you can show that a standard system is safe to install inside the 30m zone under the "viral die-off" rules (I can provide the details if interested). This saves a chunk of money Good luck with your shopping! Re: Need help... which HSTP is the best on the market... 24Dec 21, 2010 11:25 am I thought I would post an update after 18 months of living with our biolytix system - it is fantastic! most of our yard (which is the dispersment field) even before the rain, was visibly greener... the plants on the dispersment field have gone nuts! there is no smell, no noise and only needs servicing once a year and there have been no dramas whatsoever with the system. Our neighbours systems stink!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and the one in particular next door has a loud humming noise which is irritating if we are in our front yard. I can't recommend the system enough we love it and if we build again on acerage we will be having the same system. I love that i don't have to move a sprinkler around everywhere! ETA: the only downfall would be to plan your dispersment field carefully so you can put in a pool, shed etc as you can't dig up the pipes! goodluck on your search! Kylie handover happened 15/6/09...love living on an acre but still so much to do! Re: Need help... which HSTP is the best on the market... 25Jan 21, 2011 10:11 pm hi everyone first post here. looks like we might be going to build on our block of land and am starting to reasch hstp. been trying to get onto the biolytix website and finally got onto there now and it is saying that they have gone into volantary liquidation. can any one confirm if this is corect. if so this looks like this system is out of the question. so what other systems have people installed and how are the going. and what sort of cost are we looking at for one of these systems. cheers lee Re: Need help... which HSTP is the best on the market... 27Jan 22, 2011 8:45 am gee I wonder what this means for people who have the systems installed. My neighbours have the system and it's been in less than 8 months. Re: Need help... which HSTP is the best on the market... 28Feb 02, 2011 10:44 am We just had our Biolytix tank delivered about a month ago, had the hole excavated, concreted it in place... but now we're left without any worms to go in it!!! So we've already spend about $8500 with the prospect of being stuck with a completely useless empty tank in the ground. We're now wondering if we'll be able to buy the worms from another manufacturer of worm-based systems (ie. A&A Worms) or whether the systems are too different. Re: Need help... which HSTP is the best on the market... 29Feb 03, 2011 3:36 pm We too have paid a $3500 deposit for our Biolytix system! We have already started building our house so now need to quickly find another system and submit revisions to council! Because we've lost that money we need to find a cheaper one. Any recommendations?? Re: Need help... which HSTP is the best on the market... 30Jun 05, 2012 8:59 pm Does anyone have any updates on there system? I'm in need of an upgraded system secondary Advanced as our house was built back in 1989 right on top of a gully/water way and that is where our current septic/grey water system is. PLEASE HELP any info would be great. Re: Need help... which HSTP is the best on the market... 31Jun 06, 2012 9:27 am I just installed a Ecosafe for my site at $11500, i just made the 30 mtr clearence from a waterway so I did not need the advanced system, although I think Ecosafe has one. I have not used the system yet but it is a once a year service and only a irrigation pump that runs a few minutes a day so electicity costs are low. The people at Ecosafe are very good to work with and they are installing systems everyday.
