Browse Forums Building A New House Re: "Mark & Melissa's Build Blog" 41Jan 12, 2009 5:22 am I read about the alfresco case from the web when i was searching for MMetricon's webiste! It is surely a "wow factor" for us when we first visited display homes last year in Nov. We saw it from Simonds homes in Point Cook. That triggered our desire to build a big home with the "wow factor"!! I was so excited back then and kept telling the host that we'll be back to them to build the home. But we never did. Coz after that we saw MMetricon's and PD's..double "WoW"... Re: "Mark & Melissa's Build Blog" 42Jan 12, 2009 7:28 am Michelle I can’t understand why this post has attracted so much attention, there have been other’s in here who have copied plans before, so why is billdsl getting so much attention? No offence billdsl DeeElle Actually I think someone posted something about this topic several months ago .... and they were in trouble because a builder had watched their block and was complaining their plan had been copied. I'll try and search for it. Michelle might remember .... Michelle stay’s out of the building forum, because what I say attracts too much attention from the builders! And no, I don’t remember the post Dy. Im just special Michelle Blog - http://snakedr.blogspot.com/ Build Thread - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=12084&p=307406#p307406 Status - PCI 15/10. Things nearly done. Re: "Mark & Melissa's Build Blog" 44Jan 13, 2009 9:11 am Just an update on this: I followed up with Coral yesterday and Coral wont sell the floor plan if you intend to build in an area they service, which we are.
Coral are trying to put a package together that's turnkey in an attempt to keep our business but we're pretty much ready to go with the other builder, he's offered to develop us a custom design to meet our needs Blog - http://snakedr.blogspot.com/ Build Thread - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=12084&p=307406#p307406 Status - PCI 15/10. Remember ultimately the builder is not your friend (unless he is, thats another topic.) and you should go with the best package. Re: "Mark & Melissa's Build Blog" 46Jan 13, 2009 10:34 am yep thats why we're going to switch
ive asked the other builder to include the retaining wall we need in the costs of the landscaping and we'll sign with him, get what we can out of the competition Blog - http://snakedr.blogspot.com/ Build Thread - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=12084&p=307406#p307406 Status - PCI 15/10. maybe you'd be best off to just take the plans done now and say no more about it...? although if coral already know that you want that house plan, I can see why you'd want to stay absolutely above board with everything Re: "Mark & Melissa's Build Blog" 50Jan 29, 2009 4:09 pm ive asked master builder on their opinion and they think it should be okay, because even though they are similar the new design isnt a copy
i might just remove the plans and let it be, mba's advice was to cancel any work C*ral are doing and see what they say Blog - http://snakedr.blogspot.com/ Build Thread - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=12084&p=307406#p307406 Status - PCI 15/10. The main toilet in the plan is quite small. We are building the daydream 279 and extended the toilet about 30cm towards the hallway. Has made a huge difference. now we have a 'normal' size for a toilet. Built a modified "Daydream 279" .. Cor@l Homes on a flat 4473m block!! And lov'n it!!! Re: "Mark & Melissa's Build Blog" 52Jan 29, 2009 7:12 pm hmm thanks for the input, thats an easy change and i'll put it forwards.
ive ripped the entire floor plan apart again, if we get rid of all the hallway area's we gain a stack of space, so im looking for inspiration on what to do with the entire open living centre of the plan Blog - http://snakedr.blogspot.com/ Build Thread - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=12084&p=307406#p307406 Status - PCI 15/10. the only thing on our list to change now is to extend the kitchen another .5m into the dining room and i think we're ready to start Floor Plan http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a77/bi ... ild/FP.jpg Elevation (Need help choosing render colour, will post this up later) http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a77/bi ... vation.jpg Blog - http://snakedr.blogspot.com/ Build Thread - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=12084&p=307406#p307406 Status - PCI 15/10. Re: "Mark & Melissa's Build Blog" 55Feb 14, 2009 12:40 pm billds congratulations on your news.
l can I suggest that you consider putting a slider on the passageway wall going to the minor bedrooms. This helps with zoning for heating/cooling and will also slow down noise travel if you have visitors and children are trying to sleep. Or perhaps a door in the passageway just before it enters the activity room. ............ edit : had another look at your plans and it looks like you've done this already. Re: "Mark & Melissa's Build Blog" 57Feb 14, 2009 1:08 pm twins are coming along well, still in the mater hospital at present but both out of the icu and into a double sized open crib

Love the double crib, I thought of getting one hired for home (but just used one cot instead). My DS drew a picture of the twins and we stuck it on the crib! Yep when they come home you won't know yourself - but it's exciting all the same Those days are a blur for me now! Although people ask if it's easier now (mine are 2) than back then, and you are still busy, just different busy! Still not in. Don't ask!? Re: "Mark & Melissa's Build Blog" 59Feb 14, 2009 1:23 pm heh, think im odds on to go insane
we're going to put them in a single cot at home too, there's baby stuff everywhere at the moment Blog - http://snakedr.blogspot.com/ Build Thread - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=12084&p=307406#p307406 Status - PCI 15/10.
