Browse Forums Building A New House Re: How long were your plans in council? 41Feb 03, 2009 3:00 pm Jochicho we received approval 20/1/09 so it was 5 and a bit months.
Unfortunately we are still a way off site start - we need to get our CC, but to do so need to jump through several hoops, as well as paying a huge sum of money. Yep - the DA Approval time in Syd in established areas is ridiculous. Lets hope the new system will keep them honest, and make the turn around times much faster. Still not in. Don't ask!? Re: How long were your plans in council? 42Feb 03, 2009 9:51 pm Gosh Bel, what a long wait! at least the DA is through now, I just can't understand why the CC isn't an automatic thing, is there much involved for the CC? I thougth it was very straight forward...
Good luck and I hope you get your CC soon and start building your home! 7 months Franco???? that's just terrible! was it the builders fault? I'm gonna try going through the CDC process which should be 2 weeks approval. I thougth it was very straight forward... Good luck and I hope you get your CC soon and start building your home! Yep sure was a long wait, and from the excitement of the DA being approved, to the conditions needed to be met for the CC was a letdown Anyhoo, we need to get a few (stormwater, driveway, dilapidation) engineers reports, tree management plans, pay council protection fees, blah blah blah. Don't use me as the yard stick - we have a difficult block in an established area. It might be an easier process to get a CC for the majority of people. We have been told about 3 weeks, site start early-mid March. Still not in. Don't ask!? Re: How long were your plans in council? 46Feb 04, 2009 8:09 pm We submitted our DA on 27 November with Sutherland Shire Council and still waiting...I am not expecting anything too soon given the stories people have told us. Mind you, with our wincrest debacle happening Council taking its time isn't so bad. It would be worse if we were DA approved and couldn't start building....
