Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Dec 16, 2008 10:35 am Hey guys, Just a quick question....
With our house and Land package we get fencing included.. but as we are on a corner block we want a Gate installed on the side of the fence to be able to access the back yard from the side of the house. Does anyone know roughly the cost to do this? we are prob looking at getting a gate with double doors. Thanks!! Building Urbanedge Larne 002 Re: what is the cost of a GATE on side fencing? 2Dec 16, 2008 12:50 pm It depends on the type of gate and the size.... is your fence timber or Colorbond? We were in the same position, and rang the fencing contractor for a price on a single 1m wide colorbond gate to match our Supadeck profile 1.8m fencing. They charged $580.
That sounded a bit steep to us, so we went to our local Stratco and asked some questions, and discovered that we could buy a made-to-measure gate, with posts, hinges and hardware for about $280. We then got the young bloke who was doing the fencing to cement in our posts and hang the gate for us for $50. That was a much better price!
