If it is too late and cannot be rectificed, they have to pay you compensation. You will need to negotiated with them. C has 4 to 5 cases in the Tribunal for hearing this month. They are so scare of publicity and they will settle. With my hosue, I did not realise there is no floor waste in the display home so I cannot complain that they did not give me one. My handover date was supposed to be end of March. I refuse to take my house and got an expert insepctor in check the property and I am making C to fix everything now. And at the moment of writin this post, the tradies are at my house fixing thigns and my hubby is supervising them. I have refused to sign the Certificate of Practical Completion. Send me a private message and we can discuss about the brickwork. We have worked out how to deal with this and is getting an outcome. Re: Building Clarendon Brighton 224Jul 09, 2009 2:56 pm Oh good on you behw, I was just trying to think how I could help Caz, I am so glad that you have had a similar experience. It just sounds like the C is trying to take advantage of Caz if they can. It's disgusting. I hate it. Thanks. www.themaxbuild.blogspot.com forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=20717&start=300 www.leahspaperpassion.blogspot.com Re: Building Clarendon Brighton 226Jul 09, 2009 4:33 pm Yep same experience here. Check out my thread if you like. It's been good and bad but always frustrating. We'll never build again either, feels like I've aged 5 years in the last 18 months, that I'm serious about. Re: Building Clarendon Brighton 227Jul 09, 2009 4:35 pm CAZ, if items are in your contract and spec, you have every rights to demand them. If your SS doesn't agree with you to fix certain things, email/phone your CSO, or try to contact someone high up in the main office. I find that my CSO is quite helpful. For at least a few occasions, issues were resolved after my CSO got involved. Haha, I think I will still build again IF financially capable in the future. But, I definitely will have second thought on the builder. Re: Building Clarendon Brighton 230Jul 09, 2009 5:00 pm I will build again too given that C has stuffed up the brickwork of my dreamhome. We are not satisfied now. Probably wait a few years until my son finishes his high school. We were thinking that we will not have to move again. But now that see the quality of the C home, I think the problems will probe up in a few years time. Hubby said that the siren is rusted and it seems that the eaves soffit's paint has water mark. I think they may not have put enough paint the water has gone into the soffit. But next time we will have to go to some high end of the project home but this is going to cause another 80K to 100K. Re: Building Clarendon Brighton 231Jul 09, 2009 5:15 pm behw, the Balmain. No not started yet, in about 2 weeks time it will start. www.themaxbuild.blogspot.com forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=20717&start=300 www.leahspaperpassion.blogspot.com Re: Building Clarendon Brighton 232Jul 22, 2009 2:04 pm Just want to drop in and have a quick update.... WE GOT KEYS!!!! They have finally fixed the leak...after 2 more attempts!! They had to redo some of the brickworks on one side of the balcony...TWICE! Their testing still showed leaks after their first attempt...so they redo more brickworks on the second try...and that appears to do the trick. Same as Helldad, we got a nice vase as our handover present. We can now finally move on to landscaping and flooring... CONGRATULATIONS. www.themaxbuild.blogspot.com forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=20717&start=300 www.leahspaperpassion.blogspot.com Re: Building Clarendon Brighton 236Jul 22, 2009 8:30 pm Congratulations Eho! I was actually thinking of you today (and wondering how you were going with the leak issue) as I paid the deposit to Damien for the timber floors and knew you won't be far away from getting yours done, I can't wait to see them! Building a Wisdom Prosperity 23 - http://erwisdomprosperity.blogspot.com/ Re: Building Clarendon Brighton 237Jul 22, 2009 10:29 pm It definitely feels good! I now have free access to the house, no more peeking through windows like a thief! I have already fitted redishade around the house, so, nobody can peek through now! There have been some rains over the last few hours. It would be interesting to find out tomorrow if the leak is really fixed as claimed. We haven't fixed a move day yet. We at least need to finish the floor first, which should start happening in a couple of weeks time. Landscaping should begin next week. Hopefully, by the time the floor are all done, I will have the driveway done to, so no more walking over dirts. Jochicho, good to hear you selected Damien too. He seems a nice guy. When ours is done, I'll post some pics. Fingers cross for us both hoping our decision is a wise one Building Clarendon Brighton - Done and moved in Sept 2009 Re: Building Clarendon Brighton 238Jul 22, 2009 10:49 pm Sounds like you've got it all under control Eho! how exciting to finally have those keys! I think it's a good thing that it rained today as you can test the leak and if it's going to leak again better to find now before you install those beautiful floors! Yeah, he seems really nice and to know what he is doing. Yep, let's keep our fingers crossed that he'll supply and install good quality stuff! if not we can always blame Clarity Good luck with all the work in the next few weeks, looking forward to seeing your floors! ours won't be far behind as we are getting them installed during construction so they can go under the kitchen... Under control?? There are so much to do!! We haven't even looked at blinds and light fittings yet. We also haven't selected a carpet for upstairs...but that should be easy. It is good that you are able to get the floor in during construction...make it a nicer finish around the kitichen! I have checked this morning and no leak, thats a good sign. It wasn't a lot of rain last night though....still looking out for some pouring rain to test it out!! Building Clarendon Brighton - Done and moved in Sept 2009 Re: Building Clarendon Brighton 240Jul 23, 2009 10:10 pm Oh gosh, this building is a never ending story, is it? I am sure you'll get it all sorted soon! Glad to hear that the leak seems to be gone, but yeah, I guess the test will be heavy rain... Yep, really happy that we can do the floors before handover (even though there were a few extra charges to be able to do this, but should recoup them in the rent we'll save by having everything finished by handover time) as we didn't want quad around the kitchen island. Good luck good the carpet, blinds, lights, etc can't wait to see it all come together!
