Good to see another PD Cottesloe/Heywood being built. (The PD Cottesloe has the same floor plan of the Heywood but with a seperate study instead of a retreat in the master bedroom) Cheers Cozmo http://fromevetoeternity.blogspot.com P.S. Where abouts are you building? Re: YAY- we finally signed for a house!!! 6Dec 15, 2008 3:16 pm Thanks everyone!

Sammy, we are just down the road in EVE, we looked at Cascade's and nearly got a block there, but ended up going with EVE. Was down at next to cascades for a xmas do, last weekend and couldnt belive the amount of houses going up, its seems like it is a very popular Estate. Re: YAY- we finally signed for a house!!! 8Dec 15, 2008 3:45 pm Congratulations,
Now the fun begins, tiles, tender, electrical, colour and contract appointments, finally followed by the actual build. Phewww you are going to be busy in the new year. Heres wishing you all the very best. Is this your first home? Re: YAY- we finally signed for a house!!! 10Jan 13, 2009 4:56 pm Congratulions! We are looking at building in Cascades and are also looking at building with PD. We'll be looking at building the Regent 23 in the access range. Hope it all goes smoothly for you. Re: YAY- we finally signed for a house!!! 11Jan 13, 2009 8:39 pm Congrats! When is your site start date?
We will soon be building the Illoura 33 at Marriott Waters Blog: http://bluemistkids.blogspot.com "Never be afraid to try something new. Remember, amateurs built the ark, and professionals built the Titanic." Re: YAY- we finally signed for a house!!! 12Jan 14, 2009 8:39 am Thanks everyone for all of your replies!
We have been told we will have a may start date...but we have our tender tomorrow morning so hopefully we will get the exact date then! its very exciting but a little overwhelming with all th colour selections you have to do! Re: YAY- we finally signed for a house!!! 13Jan 14, 2009 8:52 am SammyJ Thanks everyone for all of your replies! We have been told we will have a may start date...but we have our tender tomorrow morning so hopefully we will get the exact date then! its very exciting but a little overwhelming with all th colour selections you have to do! SammyJ , you will not get an exact start date at your tender, but if they confirm a may start that’s when it will happen. With PD they have all the SS in the local regional office near the end of the month and allocate the new jobs for the next month to the various SS. It is then up to the SS to organise the actual start date. The SS should call you to confirm the date and introduce themselves. Good luck with the tender! Cheers Cozmo Re: YAY- we finally signed for a house!!! 14Jan 14, 2009 8:56 am oh ok! thanks very much Cozmo, we dont mind if they need to push it back untill June, the later the better! that way we can save that little bit more!
Hows your house progress coming along? did you get another lender? has pd let you know how much your site costs yet? i was just wondering if they are likely to be over the approximate one we were given at our sales quote! Re: YAY- we finally signed for a house!!! 15Jan 14, 2009 9:06 am Still waiting on the lender (who is waiting for the valuer) to get back to us.
As for site costs we allowed for 9k and they come in at 5k so all very good. When we were looking at cascades we were quoted 6k on one block and 13k on another, these were House and Land blocks so they already had site costs done on them. So you shouldnt be up of anything to extreme in cascades. (knock on wood!) Re: YAY- we finally signed for a house!!! 16Jan 14, 2009 10:16 am We were quoted $7K for site costs but they came in at $10K for a class H slab. But they are going to concrete under the alfresco and porch in that figure, so we thought it wasn't too bad.
I have heard of some who had to pay way in excess of the original quote. I hope your's is pretty close to the quote. Have you done your colours yet? We did all ours before Christmas as it wanted it out of the way before I gave birth. So we pretty much had appointments back to back for a couple of weeks and I had my bub the day after the tender appt!! Our house is down for a Feb start, we are still waiting for an exact date. So you may not find out your start date until April. Blog: http://bluemistkids.blogspot.com "Never be afraid to try something new. Re: YAY- we finally signed for a house!!! 17Jan 14, 2009 10:26 am Oh WOW congrats on the arrival of bubs and the purchase of your new home!
the site costs are one of the things we are concerned about! we went to hopetoun last sat just to browse and see what ranges we have to chose from! i never knew it would be so hard! we wrote down everything we liked, so now we can work out exactly what style and colours we like (and agree on) and actually see if they all go! You’re on the right track, wire brush in a grinder then a zinc rich epoxy primer then a top coat of some sort, like a waterproofing membrane. Raising the concrete would… 1 7030 How good is Simeon?! Always taking time to help others out! Wish we were building in NSW and could work together. Thanks for all that you do! 7 6561 Really tight at the top of the stairs- how to get furniture into those rooms? Study books - does anyone really use them these days? Large storage closet would be more functional. 2 6883 |
