I finally have a chance to post some new pics of our house

as we have 100 m 2 of floor tiles, DH is laying them to save money
first tiles going down

first line of tiles from the front door

tiles in front of island bench

closer view of tiles

flatpack kitchen going in

vanities

driveway and garage doors

our front garden (tip)

inside the garage (tip as well!)

we were hoping a few months ago to move in by christmas, but now it looks like it will be late january (paying mortgage and rent is not fun!)
the benchtops for the kitchen will hold us up because they are on hols til 14th Jan so we wont get the benchtops til a couple of weeks after that, and the cooktop and sink cant go in til after then
we should have everything else just about done by then (hopefully)
cheers,
Jo
Nice photos!

Glad to see the beer is flowing
Your house is looking fantastic!

Who are you building with, and where?
Your house is looking great! You must be getting so excited this close to finishing. Hope everything goes smoothly to the finish line.

I want to see these photos SOOOOO bad, but they are huge so will have to wait until I go to work, damn
but I saw the first two and it looks good, very handy DH.
pringles..we are owner builders in rowville...its all our own work

julie thanks for your encouragement
suh...sorry about the pic size...photoesizing is not my think...oh well

ed....if you look at the 5th photo..you can see i have stuffed up the cabinets...since we flatpacked we had to use standard size cabinetry, and it is not wide enough for our island bench. the back panel for the island bench is now in and we have a sgnificant benchtop overhang...we are planning on 20mm c/s...will we have to install a substrate...and what is a substrate?
i guess our benchtop guy will tell us but I would like to know what he is talking about
cheers,
Jo

Jo,

Looks awesome!!

I still love the integrated pool outside the kitchen and cant wait to see it all finished...

Well done guys.
Looks good. I'm thinking of doing flatpac for my unit renovations before I sell. Where did you get it from? Was it hard to get the cabinets level?
Your floor tiles laid by hubby look fantastic! He has done well!

Yep like someone said, good to see the VB flowing!

Very nice indeed.

DH has now painted the bulkheads in the kitchen
DH will install mirrors in the bathroom and ensuite this weekend
our templates have been picked up for the benchtops, and the supplier thinks next thursday as a possible install date
once the benchtops are in our plumbers can come back and fit off toilets, taps, oven, cooktop etc etc .
we cant get the splashback for the kitchen measured properly until the benchtop is installed and we cant get a certificate of occupancy until the splashback is in....apparantly the lead time on a glass splashback is 1-2 weeks...so we should be in by mid Feb hopefully!!!!
Jo (broke owner/builder)
Jo,

Absolutely fantastic! What a grand job you guys have done.

What are the colours in your bathrooms?
Is that pepperdust?
It looks really similar to the colour scheme we chose, so I hope ours looks as good as yours does! (...when it actually starts...*sob*)

Good luck for the rest of it!

Ryan
Very Nice Job Done! Wish I have the skills to do all these
WOW WOW and WOW!!!! What a great job he did, they looked fabulous. Is your vanity mushroom linea? The kitchen is gorgeous, lucky you
Sorry, I meant your laundry.
thanks folks!
the vanities are mushroom linea and the benchtop in the laundry is stipple seal.
I am very happy with how the kitchen turned out, I was a bit worried it would be too white but I`m sure once the benchtops and splashback go in it will be ok
Jo
House looks great youve done a top job what the render colour out the front?
the render is Dulux "stone"
we were originally going to have a lighter colour(paperbark) but when the renderer applied it it looked too light (almost white)
Great job! It all looks fantastic - so light and airy - just how I want my new home

Love all the tiles and the kitchen!
Those tiles look brilliant!
