Maybe you guys can give me an idea whether or not I can be annoyed here. I contacted the CSC via e-mail on Thursday evening after the base was finished. I asked her when the frame was going to commence and when the invoice was going to be sent....no response. I waited all Friday too....no response. Finally today I sent her an email asking whether or not she got my e-mail. She replied saying she had Friday off last week and was catching up on her emails....Ok thats fair enough. Can handle that....BUT. She told me that the frame was due to start next week sometime At this stage the SS also changes. I rang our new SS and asked him if there were any problems with the base etc etc and he DIDNT KNOW that the base had been poured. In fact, he told me that he hadnt heard anything from the other SS...... I know that I dont have the right to be annoyed when I read people like Stormy's stories, but couldnt they be just a little more efficient with their communication?!!?!? It's not easy paying rent and the beginning of a mortgage off at the same time and delays like this (this is the third time) just cost us more money....GRRR!!!! Is it not fair to ask that they do some work each weekday instead of one or two days each week, or whole weeks without work? /end of rant Building Vancouver 33 - My Thread https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=89689 reply 105Feb 23, 2009 6:37 pm Ryan Oliver, you definitely have the right to rant about poor communication, lack of service and slowness in getting to a client. You are paying them the money, and it is most annoying when you deal with people who have no idea and experience.
What a joke - your supervisor didn't even know about the slab? AND he hasn't heard from the old one? I wouldn't be very happy if I were in your situation. Yep I reakon you are entitled to a few rants over this period. We have had a few already ourselves and its only just begun.
I would be expressing my disappointment to your Site Supervisor when he gets his act together. We are on the other end. We got our invoice for base stage one day after it was poured but again there were errors and we have now waited several days for the correct invoice to be issued. Grrr. They do such a great job at some things and then let ya down again with their customer service and communication. Fingers crossed they get up to speed quick smart and surprise/impress you one day soon Re: Building commences... - We're in!!! ...and LOVING IT!!!! 107Feb 28, 2009 4:34 pm Update.
Thanks to all who replied to the rant. Much appreciated. I called the new SS on Friday afternoon just to check whether there had been any delays and he asked me whether I had received a call from my CSC this week. He was shocked when I told him the answer was no and that he had told her to let me know that the chippie was a little behind on another job and will start Monday. He apologised for the delay and said that we should have been notified. All is good. Our new SS seems really nice, but our CSC......... Anyways, we got over the delay and are both looking forward to our frame commencing on Monday. The timber has been delivered with the portaloo and is sitting on the slab ready to go! Will hopefully be able to post some pics on Monday of the start of the frame. Looking forward to it! Trust me, you have every right to have a rant, especially when treated like this. I've had 'issues' in the past (as you know) with the whole Customer Service side of building...there really isn't much as far as I'm concerned. Although things for me have vastly improved. Don't hesitate to let them know your concerns. Don't forget this is the biggest investment you will make in your life, and you should be treated accordingly...
Great to hear your frame will start soon...this has been the most exciting part for me so far, to be able to walk around YOUR home instead of the display or a 'piece of paper'. Best wishes! I called the SS, who sounded a bit annoyed that I had called. I kept my professionalism about me and voiced my disappointment about the situation. He said that he would be on to it and that it will go ahead tomorrow....... Anyways, hopefully we will get our frame start tomorrow. Cheers. Maybe different companies work in different ways? Am not too sure. With our builder the sales consultant initially got us to contract stage then the CSC walked us through contract signing etc. Now the CSC is the person who is supposed to contact us with regular updates, organise times for construction meetings, inspections etc. Building Vancouver 33 - My Thread https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=89689 Re: Building commences... - We're in!!! ...and LOVING IT!!!! 114Mar 03, 2009 3:22 pm We even have a Construction Team in Brisbane. Went past tonight and they have put together and put up most of the walls. I chatted to one of the chippies as he was leaving...really nice bloke. He said that the walls would be finished Monday, trusses delivered Tuesday and finished within a couple of days after that! Woo hoo! We went for a walk through the frame and got a feel for the house for the first time! SOOO AWESOME! It looks and feels a lot bigger now that much of the frame is up. I left my darn camera at school today so will take some pics and post tomorrow. What stage are you at? Building Vancouver 33 - My Thread https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=89689 You should be able to encase the sewer but you will need it designed and approved and access to lot 580 to do the work 2 17163 I want to build a decking to the drawn shape outlined in black. The problem is how close can I build to the gas hot water unit? Will I be able to build around it and be… 0 20230 custom probably not. Volume, most defiantly, but spec would vary. If youre doing a knock down, there additional costs associated with that that will eat into your budget… 1 10276 |
