I have some news from my neighbour that I'm not sure what to read into it. I'll quote: Quote: Oh by the way they will have to do a fill in on your slab as they were about 1 inch out on one side for about 6 metres but that is not a problem it happens alot and is easy fixed. What does that mean? What are the consequences? Thanks Peach Re: What's need to do a "fill in" on your slab mean? 2Dec 05, 2008 12:50 pm Sounds like your slab was build one inch smaller than it shoud be and that a "strip" will need to be built. Demolition August 2009, Construction Started September 2009, Completed December 2010 Re: What's need to do a "fill in" on your slab mean? 4Dec 05, 2008 3:09 pm Unfortunately, this seems more common than expected. We had the same thing 30 years ago with our first house. The brick leaf of the laundry wall was off the edge of the slab by about 15 mm. It annoyed me at the time, but became invisible after paving and never caused any subsequent problems.
Still, I bought a long tape measure before the slab of our current build was poured and checked the dimensions, just in case. A set of plans, measuring tape and a spirit level.....plus a bit of time can be worthwhile for any home builder. A good builder won't mind the owner double-checking things as it can save time and effort (ie money) on their part later. Cheers zeke If you're in a flood zone, not only are you dealing with the importation of fill and laying it down in 150 lifts to achieve compaction, you're going to have to consider… 4 5536 2 4353 yeah i couldnt picture it issue either, but i could clearly picture what they were doing wrong haha 2 5300 |
