Hi, we are currently looking at a block of land in East Gippsland zoned rural residential. Its 8000m2 or close to 2 acres. The dimensions are 67m wide and 120m long. There is a power pit at the front fence and town water access directly across the road (gravel). There is also a phone line running across the front of the property. We would have to get a septic system put in as there is no sewerage available. There are no easments on the property and no building restrictions from local council.
We would have to build at the back of the block, due to a slight slope at the front, and would prefer to be back away from the gravel rd anyway.
My husband and I don't know where to start. We haven't put in a final offer yet, as we feel as though there must be more questions to ask about building. Should we get a builder to come around and give us some advice about possible hidden costs first? Would they do that?
Any advice on things we need to know....
Thanks
Fiona
