Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Dec 01, 2008 1:26 pm We are currently planning on the length of setback on the left and right side boundary of the house. Is it 1.5 m the required setback from the boundary? Is there something under the law (Victoria)? We were told that the walls of garage can be extended up to the boundary of our land. Attached to the contract of sale of our land is ARC Guidelines on Carparking and Garages. It states that 'driveways to all lots must be set back a minimum of 0.5 meters from the side bounday to allow for landsaping along the lenght of the driveway.' Does this mean that only after 0.5 m from the side boudary that we could build the walls of the garage? Thanks.
