Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Nov 28, 2008 1:14 pm HI all,
We have a front to rear sloping block that we will build on in a few years time. In the interim period, I would like to figure out what sort of house I can put on it. At this stage, I am not looking for a builder/draughtsman, I am trying to figure out what I want first. While I have an ok idea of the floorplan, I am having trouble figuring out the style of house I want. My question is: Is there a website that summarizes the common designs for houses for sloping blocks. (with a good range of images) It is mainly the view of the front of the house and its roofline that I am concerned with at the moment. ( I will move onto the rear later...) Price range between 200k - 400k excluding earthworks. Block details and my ideas: The N/W facing block is 20m wide by 35m long. The slope drops about 3 metres over 22 metres. The remainder of the block's rear is graded flat. There is no slope from left to right across the block width. I am thinking of all living upstairs with internal stairs to the lower level garage and Rumpus/storage area. I am also including the biggest rear verandah I can afford, so I can take advantage of the mountains view. The front of the house will be nearly level with the road. Please let me know if i need to supply further detail. Thanks all, Alf... Re: Types of home designs for normal residential properties??? 2Nov 28, 2008 2:08 pm Hi Alf,
Welcome to the forum! Quote: My question is: Is there a website that summarizes the common designs for houses for sloping blocks. (with a good range of images) These are a starting point, not sure exactly what you are after, or what state you are in: http://www.masterton.com.au/charmhaven.htm - a volume builder and looks like you can have any 'single story' facade. http://www.splitlevelhomes.com.au/ - a great site for info about sloping blocks with designs also. http://www.kingstonehomes.com.au/downslope.html - more info a a few ideas. Also, do a google images search and you will get ideas from the States where they seem to have different ideas. Have a read here also https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.p ... highlight= Cheers Bel Still not in. Don't ask!? Thanks for your reply... These sites are a good start... I am looking for the external style of houses available for rear sloping blocks. The block is near Nambucca Heads in the Central North Coast of NSW. In this area I have found these companies have sloping experience. Centenary Constructions: http://www.centenaryconstructions.com.au and; Integrity Homes: http://www.integritynewhomes.com.au/ They don' have many images though. Regards Alf...
