Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Nov 24, 2008 11:52 am Does anyone know how much Matrix cladding is say per square metre installed? I'm thinking of using it on my facade but not sure of the cost.
Oh and if anyone has it would you recommend it or not? Thanks! Re: Matrix Cladding 3Nov 24, 2008 1:08 pm We used matrix (James Hardie) our facade and they were included in the base price. I don't think they are expensive - they are probably same price with blueboard but requires a lot more time/skill installing them. braveheart Re: Matrix Cladding 4Nov 24, 2008 9:54 pm Donuts - not sure about the tiles. It's a Scyon product by James Hardie
Braveheart - thanks I'll probably just check it out with my builder. Re Scyon Matrix cladding 5Nov 25, 2008 3:10 pm Hi there
Actually Matrix is a very cost effective product to install (and much better than blueboard). Blueboard needs to be skim rendered over and matrix is pre-primed so painters put two coats on over the top very easily. You can read more about it here http://www.scyon.com.au/matrix.html, but in terms of costs, your builder will need to advise. However if you go to page 5 of the construction book (short) that you can download from here http://jameshardie.com.au/smarter/construction.html you can get a sqm cost comparison between that and various other wall materials. Hope this helps (PS I am using Matrix on my renovation) Standard uninsulated double brick has an R value of around 0.7. An insulated standard 90mm stud timber frame can have an R value of around 2.7.
