Don't knock it til you've pitched it...so to speak. I imagine there would be plenty of people who'd pick it up in an airport bookshop.

Re: House of horrors - Kek's Bridgeport 35 - ALL MOVED IN! 144Feb 22, 2009 6:15 pm Hi Kek I have not been able to see this in your thread or your blog (i'm probably missing it...)
Just wanted to know what colours are in your facade? I'm pretty sure the painted top cross bar is CB Ironstone but what is the purple you have used? And what are those bricks? Emma and I are currently tossing up on having either the Kingsford facade or the Urban Metro. I want Kingsford she wants Metro I plan on using a picture of your frontage as an example of how great the Kingsford can look! If I do not win that arguement we may end up with similar colours to yours anyway just on the metro facade. Hope our CSC doesn't mind all my pre-tender changes so far Re: House of horrors - Kek's Bridgeport 35 - ALL MOVED IN! 145Feb 22, 2009 6:53 pm Facade colours:
Bricks - Austral Harvest Malt Spouting/fascia - CB Ironstone Front door, portico beam and trims around brickwork and top of rendered sections - Ironstone Garage door - CB Ironstone Render - Rockcote Pinjara (I believe they now use Dulux colours) Stain on timber windows and door frame - Nutmeg Roof tiles - Monier (forget the type) in Barramundi Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I think the Kingsford facade looks much classier than the Urban Metro. The corner window makes it look really swish. The only other one we even considered was the Hotham facade, but that window won hands-down in our books. I've seen quite a few of the facades on 'real' homes, and the Bluewater looks nice too. I don't know where you're located, but if you want to see it in real life I'm happy to PM you the address. There's an Urban Metro facade in our estate too, just a couple of streets away. Re: House of horrors - Kek's Bridgeport 35 - ALL MOVED IN! 146Feb 22, 2009 6:54 pm Forgot....weatherboards are in CB Paperbark. Re: House of horrors - Kek's Bridgeport 35 - ALL MOVED IN! 147Feb 22, 2009 7:06 pm We live in Tarneit - planning on going for a drive next weekend to Mernda to look at the Bridgeport display there that has the Kingsford facade.
Not adverse to driving around we may do a drive by (sounds ominious!) if it is not too far away for us. Thanks for posting the info Kek we might try and achieve something similar to what you have with the Latte bricks be it in the Urban Metro or the Kingsford style. Re: House of horrors - Kek's Bridgeport 35 - ALL MOVED IN! 148Feb 22, 2009 8:19 pm Glad to hear its worked out well for you with PD. We are currently building the Bridgeport 35 @ Hawkstowe and are having a reasonalbe run except for the Bastards that have stolen our fireplace not once but twice so far. We are about a week away from our PC inspection. Fingers crossed Re: House of horrors - Kek's Bridgeport 35 - ALL MOVED IN! 149Feb 22, 2009 8:35 pm Gadgetman We are currently building the Bridgeport 35 @ Hawkstowe .....We are about a week away from our PC inspection. Fingers crossed Which facade did you choose? I'm always curious to see what other people go for. Ours has worked out OK - it was just a very painful process getting to handover. And we still have some outstanding issues, almost three months later, but we're hopeful they'll all be sorted out along with our maintenance stuff. Bummer on the fireplace - theft is a real problem on new estates. We were lucky, only had our pump for the water tank pinched. It might help if the tradies locked up now and then.
