Now we will be waiting with bated breath for the next installment of pics as Matt said. Re: Incredible but true - handover done - the house is ours!!! 24Nov 19, 2008 6:37 pm woo hoo woo hoo
I can't possibly imagine how you must be feeling . That will come next year for us! So, so happy for you & your family. Thank goodness the worst is over & you can enjoy your house now !! Re: Incredible but true - handover done - the house is ours!!! 25Nov 19, 2008 6:42 pm oh Maxie, I can't believe I missed your thread the past few days!!!!! We are having another final inspection tomorrow, hopefully keys on the same day or Friday. I'm so glad yours went so smoothly after a year of waiting. Did you use an inspector on your final day? I know you will be very busy, but please post photos whenever you can.
Congratulations Re: Incredible but true - handover done - the house is ours!!! 27Nov 19, 2008 6:58 pm yay - I'm glad so many of us will be in for Christmas!
Sammy, we didn't use a building inspector for the final insection - I had wanted to (I had wanted to use Archicentre at several points during the build) but DH didn't want to ($$$) All the best for your handover! In for christmas lucky you! I dont envy the packing/unpacking, Its the one thing I am dreading when my turn comes. Re: Incredible but true - handover done - the house is ours!!! 29Nov 19, 2008 7:42 pm Congrats, Maxie....what a great feeling.
The standard of cleaning seems to be generally pretty poor - my mother is already gathering her buckets and cleaning cloths, because, according to her, NO-ONE can clean my house as well as she can. I'm not about to stop her.... Enjoy your new home! Re: Incredible but true - handover done - the house is ours!!! 31Nov 19, 2008 8:01 pm This must be such a fantastic feeling! Can't wait to see the pics After 4 years - we're in! Re: Incredible but true - handover done - the house is ours!!! 32Nov 19, 2008 8:31 pm Congratulations, Maxie! Hopefully the painful process of building will now fade into distant memory. Re: Incredible but true - handover done - the house is ours!!! 36Dec 01, 2008 10:28 pm We are moving in tomorrow! We've been moving stuff over the weekend, but all the furniture (and us) is going tomorrow. I have to tell you, the last few days have probably been the MOST stressful of the whole building experience - there were several times when DH was treading on very thin ice
One black cloud - the appliances were delivered today - oh, but wait - no oven - the truck driver told us it is 'out of stock'. Do you think anyone at C bothered to ring and inform us of this when they have apparently known this for 2 weeks - nope I've made several phone calls and fired of a lengthy email with my 'demands' - even if the oven comes into stock (which apparently is Dec 12), it is going to be pretty hard to get C to move their butts and get an electrician to install it PRONTO! They really don't seem to give a toss if we have Christmas without an oven. And, we only chose the thing 14 months ago - how I hate that company pics? I haven't had time to take too many pics in between the nervous breakdowns of the past week I will try! Just get DH to fire up the barbie ..... oh and so happy for you that the end is in sight.....just a little bit longer & it'll be a distant memory Congratulations Maxie 38Dec 02, 2008 7:18 am That is such wonderful news maxie, I am so excited for you!!! Oh what a Chrissie present!!
Enjoy your first Christmas in your NEW NEW NEW home. Santa has certainly delivered this year, you must have been REALLY good this year! Can't wait to see the photos (we have chosen The Balm@in also). All the best...take it one bit of furniture at a time... themax Re: Incredible but true - handover done - the house is ours!!! 40Dec 02, 2008 7:53 am who needs an oven anyway? hehehe
all you need is internet connection and the forum! hehehe I have to admit, C should improve their admin and communication skills. Just remember to enjoy your new home and try to forget C. over the xmas holidays. Good luck. 1) I had requested R6 ceiling insualtion batts, however I noticed that on some areas there are huge gaps which will allow hot air to sweep in, and also noticed black/grey… 0 3603 Joe, it depends on your certifier but we are noticing the ones we deal with are really cracking down.
